Travis Kelce might not be hitting the stage with Taylor Swift (yet), but he showed off his singing chops on a Christmas duet with his brother, Jason Kelce.
After releasing their new single, "Fairytale of Philadelphia," on Wednesday, November 15, it quickly reached the impressive position of No. 8 on the Apple Music charts. Jason, aged 36, expressed his gratitude by sharing a screenshot of the charts and thanking everyone for their support on X (formerly known as Twitter).
"Fairytale of Philadelphia" is currently sandwiched between two country songs performed by Jelly Roll. Taking the top spot is Jack Harlow's "Lovin on Me."
This particular song was released on Wednesday, November 15 and can be found on the Philadelphia Eagles' second holiday album, titled "A Philly Special Christmas Special." Jason, along with his offensive line teammates Lane Johnson and Jordan Mailata, recorded the album. The earnings from this project will go towards benefiting the Children's Crisis Treatment Center and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. It's worth noting that their first album, "A Philly Special Christmas," released in 2022, managed to raise $1.25 million for charity.
Just before the release of the song, the NFL posted a TikTok video featuring Jason (36) inviting Travis (34) to be part of the track. Discussing their relationship over the phone, Jason described it as a mix of fighting and love, which he believed would translate well into the song. He also added that it could offer a glimpse into the bond between two brothers and how family influences their lives.
Although Travis readily agreed to participate, he previously expressed doubts about his performance. On their podcast "New Heights," he mentioned that while he didn't consider it to be good, the studio had greatly enhanced the final outcome compared to his own expectations.
Jason expressed his excitement in October about having Swift on the Eagles' next Christmas album, given that she has been linked to Travis since September. He shared his enthusiasm on the Today show, stating that it would be incredible, but possibly in the future.
At present, Swift, who is 33 years old, is occupied with the international leg of her Eras Tour. On Saturday, November 11, Travis made headlines when he attended one of her shows in Buenos Aires, Argentina. During her performance, Swift modified the lyrics of her song "Karma" to mention Travis, singing "Karma is the guy on the Chiefs," while he joyously danced in the VIP tent. Following her show, the couple exchanged a kiss as they greeted each other.
Despite their busy schedules, Travis and Swift remain unconcerned about their future. According to a source, "Travis and Taylor are truly a couple who genuinely spend ample quality time together, forging a deep and genuine bond." The source added that they have made extensive plans to navigate their respective commitments, such as Swift's tour and Travis' games, in order to maintain their relationship.
