Jason Kelce acknowledged that Taylor Swift helped bring attention to his brother, Travis Kelce, and her influence may have also contributed to the increased popularity of the Eagles center. In an episode of the "New Heights" podcast on Wednesday, October 11, Jason, 35, expressed his excitement over Kelce's documentary becoming the most-watched on Prime Video in the United States. He enthusiastically shared the news with Travis, 34, proclaiming it as the number one documentary of all time.
He proceeded to jest that the triumph had nothing to do with external influences, amusingly stating to his sibling, "It's all thanks to you and me. The Taylor Swift controversy has no bearing on this."
Travis, who has been romantically connected to Swift, 33, in recent times, joined in the lightheartedness, playfully remarking, "Everyone seems to be fascinated by our family dynamics."
The siblings were discussing Jason and the Philadelphia Eagles' recent NFL game, where tight end Dallas Goedert scored his inaugural touchdown of the season. Travis expressed his enthusiasm whenever a fellow tight end successfully reaches the end zone, considering them to be the most selfless players on the team. He also remarked on the absence of any documentaries solely focused on tight ends.
Jason silenced his brother's teasing by reminding Travis that he had a role in the film as well.
When it premiered on September 12, Kelce achieved the highest viewership ever recorded on Prime within its initial three days of streaming. Securing the top spot upon debut, the movie maintained its position among the platform's top five films for the entirety of its first three weeks.
The film centers around Jason's remarkable NFL career, as he contemplated retiring from the Philadelphia Eagles after the 2022 season. Ultimately, he determined that he still had unfinished business on the field. Jason's parents, Ed and Donna Kelce, as well as his brother Travis, contributed to the project. Travis expressed his admiration for his older brother during filming, exclaiming, "That's something to be proud of. It's incredibly enjoyable, man." Travis also shared his emotional response, saying, "I was in tears, pouring my heart out for you, bud. I'll definitely watch it again and give it another view."
Kelce sheds light on the sensational media attention surrounding Super Bowl LVII, which saw a historic clash between two brothers in the NFL championship. Jason and the Eagles put up a strong fight in February against Travis and the Kansas City Chiefs, but it was the Chiefs who ultimately emerged victorious.
A significant aspect of the documentary revolves around the strong bond between the brothers, as well as the pivotal role played by Jason's wife, Kylie Kelce, and their daughters. During the Super Bowl, Kylie was in her 38th week of pregnancy, prompting her to bring along her doctor for added safety. On February 23, their baby girl Bennett was born, joining her older sisters Wyatt, 4, and Elliotte, 2.
"We made an effort to remain as genuine and natural as we could, allowing viewers to truly immerse themselves in our lives, thoughts, and all the events that unfolded throughout an entire NFL season," Jason explained in a recent joint interview with Kylie on Today.
In addition to the Prime Video documentary, the Kelce family continues to captivate public attention with Travis' blossoming relationship with Swift, generating immense interest in both the brothers and the NFL.
Following surprise appearances at two consecutive Chiefs games, Swift and Travis have tried to keep a low profile. Despite her absence at his team’s game against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, a source exclusively told We that Swift discreetly traveled from Nashville to Kansas City to be with Travis on his "chill" 34th birthday.
