Don Lemon is still feeling incredibly happy after marrying Tim Malone and he's excited to share how they put together their perfect guest list.
According to Lemon, 58, the key to their guest list was including people who are truly important to them. This included family, extended family, close friends, and those who hold a special place in their hearts. They decided to prioritize those they have strong connections with, such as childhood friends, college friends, and those they love the most.
Lemon and Malone, 38, got married on April 6 in New York City with U.S. ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield officiating. The guest list included music mogul Clive Davis, Alec Baldwin, The View cohost Joy Behar, former Today anchor Matt Lauer, and Sex and the City creator Darren Star, among others.
Even with the presence of famous celebrities, Lemon mentioned on Thursday that he and his partner did not plan for the wedding to be filled with stars.
"It was amusing because some people thought there was a celebrity guest list," Lemon shared with Us. "But it's not like that. Joy is actually my neighbor in the Hamptons, and Sunny works in the office across from mine at CNN. We've known each other for a long time."
He continued, "Sara, who is on The View, used to be in the page program at NBC with my husband. Whoopi is a mentor to me, and Clive Davis is both a mentor and a close friend. These are just people we have known for a long time, so it wasn't a gathering of celebrities. It was simply a group of our dearest friends in the world."
