Vanessa Hudgens is eagerly anticipating her transition from being single to entering into married life with her soon-to-be husband, Cole Tucker — and this also involves a change in her name.
Hudgens, 34, confirmed her intention to change her last name to Tucker during her appearance on the November 2 episode of Today With Hoda and Jenna. As the Princess Switch 3 actress, she clarified that her professional name will remain the same, but personally, she will be referred to as Mrs. T.
Hudgens embraced the concept of marriage with her October bachelorette party theme. "I suggested that my friends dress as if they were attending my funeral," she elaborated. "It symbolizes the end of my single life, the end of Hudgens. Let's fully commit to the theme. So, I shared images of stylish funeral attire with them."
During one of their evenings in Aspen, Colorado, the High School Musical star donned a white gown, contrasting with her friends who opted for all-black ensembles.
Hudgens described the getaway as both "great" and "very magical," despite its dark and deadly atmosphere. She even referred to the weekend as being "really grown" due to its laid-back schedule. With a laugh, she called it a "zen hen," as they engaged in activities such as yoga, sound baths, and hiking, making it feel like a health retreat.
After her girls' trip, Hudgens joined her partner to celebrate her favorite evening of the year: Halloween.
Hudgens explained that Tucker, 27, is not really into seasonal celebrations as he did not grow up emphasizing them. However, she takes charge of creating costumes for them, handing it over to him, and he enthusiastically participates.
For their costumes this year, the couple decided to dress up as Zorro and Elena from the movie "The Mask of Zorro" released in 1998. They also attended another holiday party dressed as the rockers Slash and Axl Rose from the band Guns N' Roses.
Hudgens and Tucker's relationship was first rumored in the fall of 2020, but they didn't publicly announce their relationship on Instagram until February 2021. In February, it was confirmed that Tucker, a player for the Pittsburgh Pirates, had proposed to Hudgens towards the end of 2022.
Just a week later, Hudgens took to Instagram to share a photo of her engagement ring, with the iconic Eiffel Tower in the background. She excitedly captioned the snap with, "YES. We are absolutely thrilled!"
Hudgens enthusiastically shared her thoughts on the milestone while appearing on the Today show in April. She expressed, "I feel absolutely incredible. It's quite amusing actually, because I was discussing this with Cole. People often ask, 'Does it feel different? Does getting engaged bring about change?' That used to be my usual question, but now I have the chance to be asked. And you know what? It genuinely does feel different. There's a profound sense of security and comfort. It's truly the most wonderful thing. I adore being a fiancée."
