Teyana Taylor stays in shape thanks to her daughters Junie, 8, and Rue, 3.
She shared, "Dancing with my kids is really what keeps me fit. They keep me active and I enjoy dancing with them."
She shares Junie and Rue with her estranged husband Iman Shumpert. Taylor filed for divorce from her ex in January 2023 after seven years of marriage. The duo announced their separation several months later in September 2023.
In addition to staying active by chasing around her kiddos, the Coming 2 America actress also enjoys indulging in food. In a December 2023 interview with Us, she mentioned that she loves food and doesn't worry too much about counting calories.
After her burlesque show in New York City in May, Taylor Swift revealed to Interview magazine that she didn't do any warm-up exercises before going on stage. Instead, she made sure to eat. "No stretches, I ate pizza and prayed," she shared.
It appears that Taylor is determined to avoid getting hangry, to the extent that she even brings her own food to events like the Met Gala.
"I only break one rule at the Met Gala - bringing my own food," she shared with Access Hollywood during the event earlier this month. "I believe in being truthful. Sometimes I feel so overwhelmed and hungry that I need to bring my own food. I rush to get there, and even after arriving in the sprinter van, I still haven't eaten. So, I end up putting it in a bag."
This year, she decided not to bring her own food and instead enjoyed some chicken and French fries from Raising Cane's before gracing the red carpet in a stunning red velvet corset gown adorned with David Yurman jewelry.
Taylor has been choosing fast food chicken as her meal for the Met Gala for three consecutive years. During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in November 2023, she confessed to bringing Chick-fil-A to last year's fundraiser out of greed. She also mentioned sneaking in some Popeyes food for the 2022 event.
Even though she satisfied her hunger, Taylor expressed her concern to host Jimmy Kimmel about possibly being "banned" from the event. She praised Anna Wintour for being understanding, recalling how she initially feared being banned after her first year but was pleasantly surprised to be invited back. Taylor appreciated Anna's support, believing she said, "Let her sneak her food in peace."
Taylor wasn't sure if the famous editor knew about her snack situation, but seeing the dancer at the 2024 event confirmed that Taylor is still invited to the Met Gala by Wintour.

Editor's P/S:
Teyana Taylor's approach to health and fitness is refreshing and relatable. Rather than adhering to strict diets or intense exercise regimens, she prioritizes activities that bring her joy and fulfillment. Her bond with her daughters keeps her active, while her love of food provides nourishment and satisfaction. Taylor's philosophy of self-acceptance and balance is evident in her decision to bring her own food to events like the Met Gala, where she can enjoy her favorite indulgences without feeling guilty or ashamed.
Taylor's candidness about her food choices and her concerns about being banned from the Met Gala further humanizes her. Her fear of exclusion for simply bringing her own food highlights the often-unrealistic expectations placed on celebrities. However, Anna Wintour's understanding and support demonstrate that true style goes beyond appearance and encompasses individuality and authenticity. By embracing her own tastes and needs, Taylor not only stays true to herself but also inspires others to challenge societal norms and prioritize their own well-being.
