Teyana Taylor Files for Divorce, Claims Iman Shumpert's Jealousy and Insecurity

Teyana Taylor filed for divorce from Iman Shumpert earlier this year, making a series of allegations in the paperwork. The 32-year-old reportedly filed to dissolve her marriage to 33-year-old Shumpert in Georgia in January according to court documents obtained by TMZ on Wednesday, November 23rd.
Taylor motioned that Shumpert, according to the outlet, is a jealous narcissist. She alleged that their seven-year marriage broke down after Shumpert felt insecure about not being good enough for her. She also claimed to be annoyed when he was asked to step out of frame during red carpet events. Shumpert has been reached out for comment. In September, Taylor announced that she and Shumpert, who have been married since 2016, had been separated "for a while" but planned to coparent their two daughters, Iman Jr. "Junie," 8, and Rue, 3.
Just to be perfectly clear, infidelity is not a factor in our decision to part ways," Taylor stated on September 17 in an Instagram post, putting a stop to rumors of cheating. "We still have a strong friendship, work well together as business partners, and are an excellent team when it comes to co-parenting our two wonderful children."
She went on to say: "Above all, we are a FAMILY, and in the 10 years we've been together, 7 of them as a married couple, we have never entertained the idea of betrayal. We simply keep certain things private, which is why we have been able to separate peacefully and without all the outside interference."
Shumpert did not publicly address the breakup at the time.
While Taylor’s divorce filing accuses Shumpert of feeling insecurity over her rising career, she admittedly was his No. 1 cheerleader.
"I’m too confident in my work to be bothered by that," she exclusively told Us in October 2021 when asked about Shumpert’s chemistry with Dancing With the Stars partner Daniella Karagach. "We have to do movies and TV shows, and I have a love interest and stuff like that — it’s just part of the job."

She added: “We get our job done and we keep it pushing. And I think that’s the part that we love about each other the most because we do our job and we literally keep it pushing.”
Taylor, a dancer, observed that Shumpert's stage chemistry with Karagach, 30, was "amazing" and elevated their performances. Karagach, who is married to fellow DWTS professional Pasha Pashkov, and Shumpert emerged as the victors of DWTS season 30.
