Gwyneth Paltrow discusses the impact of motherhood on her career decisions in a recent interview with People magazine. Since giving birth to her first child, now 19-year-old daughter Apple, the Goop founder has notably reduced her presence in movies.
"I took a break from acting when Apple was born," Paltrow revealed. "The last time I starred in a film, I was pregnant with her."
Paltrow is a mother to both her daughter Apple and her 17-year-old son, whom she shares with her ex-husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.
Having a child completely changed her perspective, according to her. "Once I became a mother, everything in my life was redefined," Paltrow expressed, discussing her acting career. "I started questioning if pursuing acting as a full-time career was what I still desired. I certainly don't want to be away from my child for extended periods of time."
Its not the first time she talked about her look-alike daughter.
Paltrow told Bustle that Apple is "more girly than I am."
"She is connected to all the amazing things and not the negative, discouraging aspects of our society," Paltrow shared with the publication. "Yesterday, while we were FaceTiming, she excitedly mentioned her usage of all the Goop products. I never pressured her into it, but gradually she naturally started embracing them, and I couldn't help but feel an immense sense of pride."
Paltrow established the lifestyle brand Goop in the year 2008.
