In her now-famous statement in March 2014, the Iron Man actress referred to their separation as a "conscious uncoupling." She officially filed for divorce in April 2015, and the legal process was finalized in July 2016.

Despite their separation, the couple remained committed to raising their children in a respectful manner. In a January 2018 interview with Stephen Colbert, the Goop founder described Martin as being like a brother to her. They wanted to minimize any negative impact on their kids and believed that maintaining a sense of family, despite no longer being a couple, was important. Moving forward, both the Grammy winner and the Royal Tenenbaums star found new relationships. Paltrow got married to Brad Falchuk in September 2018. Taking into consideration their blended family, they took their time before moving in together. Paltrow's partner, Falchuk, also has his own children from a previous marriage.

On the other hand, the "Viva La Vida" singer started a new relationship with Dakota Johnson in October 2017. According to a source, the actress from The Peanut Butter Falcon and her partner have a warm relationship with Paltrow and Falchuk.

"In October 2019, the insider acknowledged that it takes effort and occasionally setting aside emotions, but emphasized that there is a genuine enjoyment of being together and a strong love for each other from all parties involved.
