Apple Paltrow Honors Mom With Iconic Oscars Dress: Click to See Her Stunning Look!

Gwyneth Paltrow's daughter, Apple, stunned in her mother's 2002 Oscars dress The 19-year-old looked effortlessly graceful and elegant in the vintage gown

Gwyneth Paltrow's Alexander McQueen gown at the 2002 Oscars made a statement with its gothic-inspired design. The actress has since passed down the iconic piece to her daughter, Apple. In a recent Instagram Story Q&A, Paltrow shared that she has allowed her 19-year-old daughter to try on some of her archival fashion pieces.

The actress from Shakespeare in Love responded with a photo of her daughter Apple, whom she shares with ex-husband Chris Martin, along with her son Moses, 17, wearing the famous dress in her closet. Paltrow wore the dress for the first time at the Academy Awards in March 2002, despite facing criticism for the sheer bodice. However, she remained fond of the look.

"I personally love this [dress], although it did receive a lot of criticism from others," shared Paltrow in her interview with Vogue for their "Life in Looks" series in April 2021. "I must admit, the negative feedback did affect me for a while."

According to Paltrow, the dress was deemed too goth and hard by many at the time, which may have surprised people. Nevertheless, she personally likes the dress.

Paltrow has acknowledged a flaw in her Oscars outfit, admitting that she should have opted for a bra and a simpler, more natural hairstyle with minimal makeup. Despite this, she still loves the dress itself and believes that with these adjustments, it would have achieved the desired punk aesthetic.

Paltrow's daughter has established herself as a fashion icon and recently made her debut at the Chanel spring/summer 2023 runway show during Paris Fashion Week in January. Apple looked stunning in a black-and-white tweed ensemble from the fashion house as she sat in the front row and watched the show. However, despite her daughter's success, Paltrow couldn't help but feel emotional about her firstborn leaving home.

The transition has been significant for the Iron Man actress, who married Brad Falchuk in 2018. She expressed to We in October 2022 that although she was aware it would be challenging as she and Apple were inseparable, she was not prepared for how difficult it would be. "It was like experiencing the most devastating heartbreak," she shared. Despite the initial struggles, she is gradually adjusting to the change, and seeing Apple happy and thriving is a significant relief. The actress also mentioned that she recently spent time with her daughter during October break and is looking forward to seeing her again for Thanksgiving.
