Gwyneth Paltrow and Dakota Johnson are indeed friends, and Paltrow recently shared a photo to prove it. During an Instagram Q&A on Wednesday, November 29, Paltrow posted a sweet snap of herself and Johnson holding hands while standing on a residential street, fulfilling a request from a social media user.
The pair wore matching attire, donning blue jeans, sneakers, and olive coats. Paltrow added a grey beanie to her outfit, while Johnson opted for a black baseball cap. Since 2017, Johnson has been in a relationship with Paltrow's ex-husband, Chris Martin. Paltrow and Martin ended their 10-year marriage in March 2014, and share two children, 19-year-old daughter Apple and 17-year-old son Moses.

Following their “conscious uncoupling,” Martin and Paltrow have maintained an amicable relationship, and Paltrow has formed a close bond with Johnson. "We’re actually very good friends. I love her so much," Paltrow expressed in October during another Instagram Q&A, describing Johnson as "an adorable, wonderful person."
Paltrow and her husband, Brad Falchuk, have a close relationship with Johnson and Martin, according to an insider in 2019. The source mentioned that their friendship requires effort and setting aside personal feelings at times, but they truly enjoy each other's company and there is mutual love and respect.
Paltrow and Falchuk, 52, got married in September 2018 after publicly revealing their relationship three years prior. According to an insider, Martin and Falchuk have a strong bond of their own.
"Brad and Chris greatly admire each other and always feel inspired when they spend time together," the source described. "They benefit from each other's company - they're both really great guys."

Johnson has expressed that she believes her close relationship with Paltrow may be influenced by her parents' divorce, explaining, "Maybe I think about relationships differently because of my family background," she revealed in an interview with Vanity Fair in June 2022.
Dakota's father, Don Johnson, was briefly married to her mother, Melanie Griffith, in 1976 and again in 1989. They separated and reconciled before finally divorcing in 1996. Griffith later married Antonio Banderas, and despite their split in 2014, Dakota still considers him part of the family.
