Gwyneth Paltrow shared about her experience as a stepmom.

At the Visionary Women’s International Women’s Day Summit on March 6 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, Paltrow, 51, spoke to the audience and asked if there were any stepmothers present.

When the crowd burst into applause, she expressed, "Yeah, it's tough, isn't it, guys? But I actually enjoy discussing this because it's been a major learning experience for me as a person. My personal growth stemmed from the challenges I faced in my relationship with my stepkids initially, but now they feel like my own children."

Paltrow shared that she has a deep love for her stepchildren, but acknowledged that the journey to get to this point was filled with obstacles.

When it comes to being a stepparent, she believes in embodying the spirit of the sun by giving without expecting anything in return. She has learned to shine like the sun and not keep score.

Gwyneth Paltrow shares two children, Apple (19) and Moses (17), with her ex-husband Chris Martin. She is also a stepmother to Isabella (19) and Brody (17) with her husband Brad Falchuk. Paltrow and Martin announced their conscious uncoupling in 2014 and finalized their divorce in 2016.

She recently talked openly about her "two wonderful stepchildren" on an episode of "The Goop Podcast" where she shared her uncertainty about how to navigate her new role.

"When I first became a stepmother, I was completely lost. I had no clue where to begin. There were no guidebooks to follow. I was constantly questioning myself - when should I get involved, when should I step back? It was all very overwhelming," she admitted.

Paltrow mentioned that despite facing some difficulties, she has gained valuable insights about herself during the journey.

In 2018, Paltrow and Falchuk, aged 53, got married. They decided to take things slow to ensure a smooth transition for their children, choosing not to immediately live together as a married couple.

"We were just trying to be respectful and give them some room to breathe without rushing things," Paltrow shared during an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! in October 2019. "We were less merged at first, but now we're fully merged."

As Paltrow has moved forward with Falchuk, the Coldplay singer has been dating Dakota Johnson since 2017.

The Madame Web actress made headlines earlier this month when she gushed about Martin and Paltrow’s children, saying, “I love those kids like my life depends on it. With all my heart.”
