Arie Luyendyk Jr. seems to be supportive of the idea of his children following in his footsteps as racecar drivers. In response to a fan's question on Instagram, the 42-year-old Bachelor alum revealed his mixed feelings about his own career, stating that while he had a love/hate relationship with it, he acknowledges the immense pressure and expectations that come with racing. Despite this, he also highlights the incredible experiences and adventures that racing can provide, as long as one possesses the passion to pursue it.
"I will fully support them if they aspire to pursue a career in racecar driving," he said with conviction.
The passion for racecar driving runs deep in the veins of this Netherlands-born individual. His father, Arie Luyendyk, achieved incredible victories in the Indianapolis 500 race, triumphing in 1990 and 1997.
Arie, on his part, had a diverse racing career spanning across various series such as the 12 Hours of Sebring and the 24 Hours of Daytona. He also competed in the Indy Lights Series and served as a test driver for the A1 Team The Netherlands in the A1 Grand Prix.
Arie first appeared in Bachelor Nation during season 8 of The Bachelorette, where he competed for Emily Maynard's affection and ended up as the runner up. Five years later, he was chosen as the lead for season 22 of The Bachelor.

After his season concluded, Arie Luyendyk Jr. presented his final rose to Becca Kufrin. However, he ultimately decided to end their relationship and pursue a romance with his runner-up, Lauren Luyendyk (née Burnham). In March 2018, he proposed to Lauren during the After the Final Rose special, and they tied the knot in January 2019.
Arie and Lauren, aged 31, joyfully welcomed their first daughter, Alessi Ren, four months after their wedding. Back in November 2018, we revealed the exciting news that the couple were eagerly anticipating the arrival of their first child. Arie shared the delightful announcement on his Instagram Story, stating, "We are blessed with a healthy and stunning baby girl, weighing 6lbs and 13oz, measuring 20cm in length. Both mommy and baby are doing fantastic, and we cannot contain our happiness."
In May 2020, the couple announced in a YouTube video that Lauren went through a miscarriage.
"We had intended to share our pregnancy journey with you, but unfortunately, it didn't have the happy ending we had anticipated," they expressed. "We chose to share this aspect of our journey because, well, we share everything with you! Additionally, we hope that by discussing this, we can provide some comfort and reassurance to other couples navigating similar challenges."
In June 2021, they further extended their family by welcoming twins named Senna and Lux. Arie took to Instagram Story to share the news and express gratitude for the support, stating, "@Luyendyktwins are here. Momma and babies are thriving, and the journey has been seamless. Currently, we are savoring these precious moments."
