Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood are deeply in love and openly express their affection for each other.
They got married in 2005, but their relationship goes back almost twenty years when they were both still married to other people. They first met in 1987 and later collaborated on Brooks' 1990 album, No Fences, which played a significant role in launching Yearwood's music career.
Brooks and Yearwood didn't start dating until 2001, shortly after Garth's divorce from Sandy Mahl. Yearwood, on the other hand, had ended her marriage to her second husband, Robert Reynolds, in 1999. She had previously been married to Christoper Latham from 1987 to 1991.
In a 2016 interview with Parade, Yearwood expressed her belief that her relationship with Brooks was "meant to be" and that their long-standing friendship provided a strong foundation for their romance.

Better Together
In a 2016 joint interview with Parade, Yearwood revealed that she and Brooks spent "99 percent" of their time together. "We hardly ever spend nights apart," she mentioned.
Brooks expressed his devotion to Yearwood by stating, "I simply want to be wherever she is. I love sharing the same air she breathes."

One Happy Blended Family
Although Brooks and Yearwood did not have their own children, Yearwood has embraced the role of stepmother to Brooks' three daughters — Taylor, who was born in 1992, Sandy, born in 1994, and Allie, born in 1996 — whom he shares with Mahl.
"Garth has three grown daughters, so when we got married, it was a family affair — they had to accept me, and we all exchanged vows," Yearwood shared with Closer Weekly in January 2019. "Our anniversary is not a romantic getaway. It's more about getting the girls together, and if we can do that, then we all celebrate together every year."

Why They Work
Yearwood attributed the strength of their relationship to the deep respect they share for each other.
"It’s the friendship and respect that keeps us going," she told Closer Weekly in December 2019. "That, along with plenty of laughter, is the key."
In Sickness and In Health
When Yearwood tested positive for COVID-19 in February 2021, Brooks was by her side.
“Miss Yearwood is my everything, and I will stand by her side as we go through this,” Brooks wrote on Facebook. “She is a warrior and has been following all the right steps, so I am confident that we will overcome this together.”

Her Biggest Supporter
Brooks stated during an April 2021 episode of his Facebook Live show, Inside Studio G, "One of the greatest crimes in country music history right now: Trisha Yearwood is not in the Country Music Hall of Fame yet. That is a crime because I cannot tell you how many people have moved to this town because this woman’s voice drove them here. This is the greatest singer we have in country music, arguably, and so I’m a huge, huge fan."
Through Thick and Thin
Yearwood revealed to We in April 2021 that she and Brooks were doing "better now than ever" following the coronavirus lockdown. "I figured since we're stuck at home, we might as well address some of the toughest issues we've been dealing with for the past 15 years," she shared.
Yearwood admitted that in previous relationships, she was quick to leave when things got difficult, but with Brooks, it's different. "In this case, leaving is not an option because he is the love of my life," she explained. "So you sit down and work through it, and that makes the relationship stronger in the end."
Friends First
"We have that foundation because we've been best friends for a long time before we became a couple," Yearwood shared with Woman's World in September 2021. "Even when we're upset with each other, the fact that we're friends at the core is what really matters."

The Thought Really Counts
Yearwood gushed about her husband’s considerate nature during a December 2021 interview with the website SheKnows.
"Garth is far more contemplative than I am," she remarked. "I believe he dedicates every waking moment to finding ways to improve my life, while I probably think about him for about 20 hours a day. The remaining time, I'm focused on how I can become a better person and show more gratitude for everything he does."
Nothing Without His Love
In August 2023, while promoting his Tailgate Radio station, Brooks confided in Us about his reliance on Yearwood. "I feel so helpless because there's nothing I can do without her," he admitted. "There's nothing I can't do with her and there's nothing I can do without her."
He expressed that feeling "so free and independent" when his wife is present is both a blessing and a curse, as he becomes "so dependent" when she's not around. "I don’t think she feels this way at all, but I know I do," he said.

Until the End
During a November 2023 interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Brooks became emotional when discussing Yearwood. "The moment I leave this world, I want my three daughters and my queen by my side," he shared, expressing that he feels a deep connection to her in this life and the next.
