Lindsay Hubbard stands by her decision to attend a wedding shortly after Carl Radke ended their engagement
"A month ago, one of my close friends got married in Portugal. It was a chaotic time in my life, but we've been through so much together and I couldn't miss it," captioned Hubbard, 37, as she shared photos from Summer House costar Jaclyn Shuman's wedding on Instagram. The wedding took place on Friday, October 6. "I'm so happy I was able to be there and celebrate your true love ❤️ @jacshuman @thunka7."
Despite her recent split from Radke, 38, Hubbard surprised everyone by attending Shuman's wedding in Portugal on September 7.
The couple, who became engaged in August 2022, were originally planning to get married in Mexico in November. Their wedding preparations were initially featured on Season 8 of Summer House, but Radke informed the producers about their breakup. According to an exclusive source, Lindsay was completely caught off guard by the cancellation of the engagement, while Carl had emotionally checked out of the relationship a while ago.

Radke broke his silence in a letter to attendees where he discussed how “devastated” Hubbard was by his decision.
"We are truly sorry for the lack of communication and confusion that our guests have experienced during the past two weeks," he conveyed in a September statement. "Before we could even discuss our next steps, we had to understand how all of this unfolded."
Radke further explained, "Unfortunately, there have been numerous misconceptions and false narratives surrounding this situation, which has only added to the pain. As of now, we have decided not to move forward with the wedding. Lindsay is devastated, and I am equally heartbroken by the way everything has unfolded. We sincerely ask for patience and understanding as we seek healing and recovery during this incredibly challenging period."
In her own statement, Hubbard indirectly criticized her former fiancé by making it clear that she did not initiate the end of their engagement.
"The past two weeks have been incredibly devastating and filled with intense emotions. My entire life and future was unexpectedly torn away from me, and I've been struggling to understand it all without any answers or closure. I feel deeply humiliated by the way things unfolded, and at the same time, shattered that it happened at all. My trust has been shattered, and it has been extremely challenging for me to come to terms with that," she shared on Instagram. "I firmly believe in exhausting all possibilities before ending a relationship of this magnitude."
Hubbard has reclaimed control of the situation by embarking on her bachelorette getaway to the Bahamas alongside her friends.
Expressing her gratitude, she wrote on Instagram on September 25, “I am amazed at the overwhelming amount of love captured in this photo. My best friends have shown me such unwavering support, friendship, love, and resilience. Over the past three weeks, they have been by my side, offering comfort in moments of sadness, joining me in tears, lifting me up, never leaving me alone, and surprising me with a trip that was originally planned for different reasons. However, they recognized its increased significance. I am incredibly blessed and thankful for each and every one of these amazing women. This story exemplifies the power of sisterhood, and I truly couldn't imagine my life without them.”
