Tristan Thompson was able to earn a lot of money playing basketball. Starting his NBA career with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2011 at the age of 33, he signed a four-year contract worth $16,821,270. As he continued to excel on the court, Thompson received recognition for his skills and eventually signed a new five-year deal with the team for $82 million.

One year after signing his extension with the Cavaliers, Thompson experienced victory when the team won the championship in 2016. He continued to play in Cleveland until 2020. After the 2019-2020 season, Thompson became a free agent and signed a two-year, $19 million contract with the Boston Celtics. However, his time with the Celtics was short-lived as he was traded to the Sacramento Kings in August 2021.

After the trade to the Kings, Thompson struggled to find his place on the team. In February 2022, he was traded once again, this time to the Indiana Pacers. However, the Los Angeles Lakers picked him up towards the end of the year to help beef up their roster for the playoffs. He agreed to a $16,700 contract for the rest of the season and played in six games. This move worked out well for Thompson because it brought him closer to his ex, Khloé Kardashian, and their two kids: True, who is 6 years old, and Tatum, who is 20 months old.

In September 2023, Thompson went back to his original team, the Cavaliers, and signed a one-year contract worth $3,196,448. Despite his successes, Thompson faced some challenges. In January, he was suspended for 25 games without pay when he tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs.

After the PED scandal, a court decided that Thompson had to pay his ex Maralee Nichols back child support for missing multiple payments. Court documents from The Sun revealed that Thompson owed Nichols $57,916 for payments missed between September 2023 and January 2024. We tried to get a comment at that time.

Nichols gave birth to her son Theo in December 2021. Just before Theo was born, it was revealed that Thompson was the father after Nichols filed for child support. Despite initially denying the claims, a paternity test proved otherwise. At the time, Thompson was still in a relationship with Kardashian, 39, and they had recently used a surrogate to have their second child.

Thompson has children with Kardashian and Nichols. He is also the father of a son named Prince, who is 7 years old, from his previous relationship with Jordan Craig. There have been accusations of Thompson not paying child support for Prince, as stated by Craig's sister. Thompson has not addressed these allegations publicly.

Additionally, Thompson has taken on guardianship of his youngest brother, Amari, who is 18 months old and suffers from epilepsy. This responsibility came after their mother passed away in January 2023.
