In January, I had a major abdominal surgery in London. Initially, it was believed that my condition was not cancerous. The surgery went well, but later tests revealed the presence of cancer. As a result, my medical team recommended that I undergo preventative chemotherapy. I am currently in the early stages of this treatment.
William and I were taken aback by this news. We have been trying our best to come to terms with it and handle it privately, especially for the well-being of our young family.
It has taken time for me to recover from major surgery before starting my treatment. Additionally, it has been important for us to explain everything to George, Charlotte, and Louis in a way that is suitable for them. We have reassured them that I will be okay.
I have told them that I am doing well and becoming stronger each day by concentrating on activities that aid in my healing, both mentally and physically.
Having William by my side brings me a lot of comfort and reassurance. The love, support, and kindness shown by many of you mean a lot to us both.
As a family, we kindly ask for some time, space, and privacy as I undergo treatment. While I always found joy in my work and look forward to returning, right now my priority is to focus on making a full recovery.
“At this time, I am also thinking of all those whose lives have been affected by cancer. For everyone facing this disease, in whatever form, please do not lose faith or hope. You are not alone.”
