Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner are in a better place after coming to a custody agreement for their two daughters.
"They are actively working towards healing and establishing a healthy co-parenting dynamic. According to a trusted source, Turner, 27, and Jonas, 34, are now on the same page and have significantly reduced the level of conflict. They are taking positive strides forward."
Following a contentious exchange regarding their daughters, Willa (3) and Delphine (14 months), the estranged couple recently came to a temporary agreement. Previously, Turner had filed a lawsuit against Jonas, but the situation has shifted as they have now agreed upon a custody schedule for the remainder of the year, eliminating the need for a trial.
According to a source, they recently had a friendly conversation which led to a faster resolution. Their main aim was to prioritize the well-being of their children and avoid prolonging the process. In September, Jonas initiated divorce proceedings after being married to Turner for four years. The situation became complicated when Turner claimed that Jonas had unlawfully kept their daughters in the United States, preventing her from taking them to her home country, the United Kingdom (where the girls also hold citizenship).
A spokesperson for Jonas responded to Turner's lawsuit, describing it as a unfortunate legal disagreement concerning the dissolution of their marriage. The spokesperson expressed hope that Turner would reconsider her stance and approach the situation in a more positive and private manner.
Under the new agreement, Turner will have custody of the children until October 21, with permission to travel with them in the U.S. and U.K. Turner and Jonas will then alternate custody for the remainder of the year, with the children spending Thanksgiving with their father and Christmas with their mother. Both parties are optimistic that they will be able to reach a peaceful resolution for all their issues.
Jonas, on the other hand, is elated by the progress he and Turner are making towards finding a lasting resolution. "Joe is genuinely excited to bring everything to a resolution. He is overjoyed that things are heading in the right direction," shares the source. "His only desire is to reach a peaceful resolution as Sophie is the mother of his children, and he wishes to avoid any acrimonious split."
