Exclusive: Hearthstone's Battlegrounds Shakes Up Meta with Game-Changing Tier 7 Minions!

Hearthstone's Season 5 update shakes things up in Battlegrounds with the introduction of Tier 7 minions Prepare for exciting twists in this popular auto battler game mode

Highlights

In Hearthstone Battlegrounds, a new addition of Tier 7 minions is forthcoming. However, their availability will be restricted to certain conditions, such as playing as the hero Thorim, Stormlord, or opting for the Secrets of Norgannon Anomaly.

At the start of every match, the Anomalies gameplay system introduces random rule adjustments. One of these Anomalies, Secrets of Norgannon, triggers the activation of Tier 7 minions and grants players additional armor. In addition, the Battlegrounds minion pool will undergo a significant shakeup, with the removal of 49 minions and the addition of 32 new ones, along with the return of 11 popular favorites. Furthermore, new Anomalies will be introduced on a weekly basis following the release of the patch.

Tier 7 minions will be introduced to Hearthstone's Battlegrounds, but their availability in each lobby will not be consistent. These impactful minions can only be discovered when specific conditions are met in the upcoming Battlegrounds season of Hearthstone. Hearthstone has recently revealed Season 5 of its beloved auto-battler mode, called Clash of Thunder. With the divine influence of the Titans expansion, Battlegrounds will be transformed with thrilling mechanics and cosmetic enhancements, debuting on August 22.

The highlight of this new Battlegrounds season is the introduction of Tier 7 minions. These powerful cards possess abilities that can provide significant stat bonuses or summon multiple strong minions upon their demise. Initially, Hearthstone will introduce 14 Tier 7 minions, but accessing them will require playing as the new hero, Thorim, Stormlord, or selecting the Secrets of Norgannon Anomaly at the start of the game.

Anomalies are a fresh gameplay system in the upcoming Hearthstone Battlegrounds season. These unique rule adjustments are randomly assigned at the beginning of a match, alongside hero selection, and have the potential to alter the entire game. For example, one anomaly may begin the match with 10 gold for all players, while another may require players to choose a single hero. The Secrets of Norgannon is one of over 50 possible anomalies that can occur, activating Tier 7 minions and granting everyone 10 additional armor. Interestingly, it has a fivefold higher chance of being selected in each Battlegrounds game.

Without this anomaly, players will be unable to acquire Tier 7 minions in their Battlegrounds game, even if they triple a Tier 6 minion. Thorim’s Hero Power allows him to obtain a Tier 7 minion after spending 65 Gold, while other powerful Hearthstone minions will not be accessible in the game.

Adding to the excitement, there will be a significant overhaul of the Battlegrounds minion pool. 49 minions are being removed to make room for 32 new ones and 11 returning favorites. Over the course of the next week leading up to the patch release, Hearthstone will unveil these new minions, along with the new Tier 7 minions and many of the Anomalies. Following the patch launch, more Anomalies will be introduced on a weekly basis, with the latest rules having a higher probability of occurrence. With these game-altering Anomalies and minions coming soon, Hearthstone Battlegrounds is set to witness epic clashes unfold in its lobbies.

Hearthstone is available on Mobile and PC.
