Dua Lipa co-designed a collection with Donatella Versace — and rocked one of the designs on the pink carpet.
The 27-year-old singer wowed at the Barbie premiere in London on Wednesday, July 12. Dressed in a shimmery, colorful number that she co-designed with Donatella Versace, Lipa turned heads with her plunging neckline and delicate gold chain straps adorned with butterflies and flowers. Completing the look with a chunky choker, matching earrings, silver strappy heels, and a sleek ponytail, she paid homage to the iconic doll with a dewy face, feathered eyebrows, glittery eyeshadow, and magenta lips.
Lipa took to Instagram on Thursday, July 13, to share photos of her fabulous ensemble. Captioning the post, she expressed her pride in wearing her la vacanza collection co-designed with @donatella_versace on the pink carpet. Friends and fans flooded the comments section with praises for her stunning appearance. Versace, 86, declared her love, Sharon Rooney called her a "Beautiful Barbie," and Julia Michaels commented on her perfection.
Lipa’s collaboration with Versace resulted in a glamorous dress, part of their joint collection named "La Vacanza," meaning "vacation" in Italian. This line showcases a range of stylish items from luxurious swimwear and fashionable heels to stunning gowns. The collection made its debut in May, coinciding with the Cannes Film Festival.
During the launch, Lipa shared several outfit choices on Instagram. In one photo, she effortlessly held a martini glass, wearing a long-sleeve top and a strappy skirt adorned with polka dots and butterfly patterns. She complemented the ensemble with a black leather bag, butterfly earrings, a chain necklace, and a soft, glamorous makeup look. The following picture displayed Lipa's striking presence in a one-piece bathing suit that featured an alluring low back, a cutout detail on the bodice, and high-cut legs. Her heels and bag seamlessly matched the insect pattern on her suit, and she completed the look with an elegant voluminous updo.
Versace expressed her excitement about collaborating with Lipa in a social media post, exclaiming, "When designing this collection, we imbued each piece with the essence of true friendship, love, and joy that we both share." She further praised Lipa by saying, "Throughout this creative journey, your passion and visionary spirit have profoundly inspired me. My love for you surpasses your imagination."
In response, Lipa enthusiastically replied in the comments, stating, "It's an absolute dream come true to work with you! I adore you immensely!! What an incredible journey this has been!!"
