She elaborated on the enhanced lyrical theme, reassuring her current fans that the evolved sound will not overwhelm them or cause any distress. According to reports, the new project takes inspiration from 1970s psychedelia instead of the disco influences that shaped her previous album, Future Nostalgia.

Mark Ronson, who worked with Lipa on her 2023 track "Dance the Night" for the Barbie soundtrack, expressed a similar sentiment in a July interview with Vulture. He praised Lipa's upcoming album, stating that he has listened to some of it and finds it absolutely incredible. Ronson also connected Lipa's music video for "Dance the Night" to her evolution as an artist, suggesting that it symbolizes her victorious move beyond that particular era and into her future endeavors.

There have been rumors among fans that Lipa collaborated with Kevin Parker from Tame Impala on her album. In November 2022, Lipa posted pictures on social media where she was seen enjoying wine in front of banisters that resembled those at Parker's home in Los Angeles.

When T Magazine inquired about the rumors, Lipa playfully responded, "I have no idea what you're referring to," and chuckled as she looked away.
