Are you enjoying Drake's latest album? Well, you might have to wait a while for another one because Drake himself has announced that he won't be making music for some time. During the recent episode of his SiriusXM series, Table For One, Drake expressed that he will be taking a break from creating music. This announcement comes just hours before the release of his eighth studio album, For All The Dogs, which marks his fourth full-length project in the past two years. While some artists may fear being overexposed, Drake's decision for this hiatus is driven by a more significant reason.
"I want to be completely honest with all of you," he announced to his audience. "My top priority right now is taking care of my health, and I'll elaborate on that shortly. Nothing too extreme, but it's important to me that people prioritize their well-being. I've been dealing with stomach issues for years, and I just wanted to be straightforward about it."
"Therefore, I need to prioritize my health and make sure I'm in the best state possible, which is what I plan to do," he continued. "There are many other aspects of my life that I would love to devote attention to. Consequently, I will be temporarily stepping away from the studio. As for the duration, I'm not entirely certain. It could be around a year or maybe a little longer."
For All The Dogs marks the conclusion of Drake's recent creative surge. In 2021, he unleashed Certified Lover Boy, his much-awaited album following 2018's Scorpion, where he openly addressed the speculation surrounding his fatherhood. Drake's son, Adonis, not only contributed to the captivating cover art of For All The Dogs but also made a noteworthy appearance in the music video for "/," along with lending his vocals on a song from the album.

Drake, just under a year after the release of Certified Lover Boy, surprised fans with Honestly, Nevermind, a project influenced by house and club music that received a mix of reviews. However, the album's standout track, "Jimmy Cooks," reached the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100. Following Honestly, Nevermind, Drake switched gears and returned to his hip-hop roots with Her Loss, a collaborative album featuring 21 Savage. Despite receiving less favorable reviews than Honestly, Nevermind, Her Loss proved to be a commercial success.
Included on For All The Dogs is Drake's latest chart-topper, "Slime You Out," which features his former flame, SZA. In a conversation with Rolling Stone, the 33-year-old artist briefly touched upon their past relationship, stating, "It wasn't intense or passionate or anything like that."
Their brief fling took place in 2009 when SZA was 18 years old and Drake was 21. She dismissed it as nothing more than a youthful romance, describing it as "just youthful energy." SZA shared these sentiments with Rolling Stone, declaring, "It was so immature."
