Following the release of his latest album, Drake disclosed his intention to take a prolonged break from the limelight in order to prioritize his well-being. During his appearance on SiriusXM's Sound 42's "Table for One" show on Friday morning, the artist mentioned, "I'll likely be taking a hiatus from making music for a while."
Drake emphasized the need to prioritize his health above all else, with a specific emphasis on overall well-being. According to him, the concerns primarily revolve around his stomach.
Drake expressed his determination to prioritize his health by stating, "I am committed to getting myself back on track." He elaborated on his plans to isolate himself in the studio for an indefinite period, possibly a year. In addition, the rapper unveiled the music video for his latest track "8 AM in Charlotte," featured in his recently released album titled "For All the Dogs." The video commences with his 5-year-old son, Adonis, showcasing his artistic creation and providing an explanation for it.
"Alright. Adonis, enlighten me about the magnificent artwork that I purchased from you," Drake begins the video.
Adonis proceeds to elaborate, "The narrative remains consistent. The goat represents a fugitive evading menacing creatures and pursuing animals. However, it encounters a blockade in the form of a flower engulfed in flames. The presence of a speeding car suggests possible assistance to the goat. Additionally, there is a set of stairs reminiscent of a prison staircase. A lone individual positioned atop the stairs meets an unfortunate demise from a strike by a track-mounted stick."
"Is it like a little story?" Drake inquires. Adonis nods and responds, "Yes."
Curious about the letters on the drawing, Drake questions, "What does SBW stand for?" Adonis clarifies, "It's not an actual word, I simply wanted to write SBW."
"OK. You like those letters? And Daddys name is next to the goat. Does that mean that Daddys the goat?" Drake asks.
"Yes. So its Daddy Goat," Adonis says.
"Daddy Goat. That makes perfect sense to me. And do you want to talk about how much, how much money you got for your beautiful drawing?" Drake asks.
"Oh, please." Adonis says.
Drake shares Adonis with artist Sophie Brussaux.
"For All the Dogs" features 23 songs with collaborations from Bad Bunny, SZA , J. Cole, Lil Yachty and 21 Savage.
