Following the conclusion of the Wano conflict, the Straw Hat Pirates embark on a new journey, leading them to Egghead, the island containing Dr. Vegapunk's laboratory. As the Straw Hats become embroiled in the World Government's plot to assassinate the scientist, the unforeseen twists of the Egghead Incident will send shockwaves through the already tumultuous One Piece world.
Readers are kept on edge as the narration alternates between Egghead and other settings like Elbaf and Hachinosu. Amidst all the plot twists, fans eagerly discuss the epic battles in the latest One Piece chapter. Warning: This article contains major spoilers from the One Piece manga up to chapter 1104.
The Egghead Arc’s main fights, listed in chronological order as of One Piece chapter 1104
1) Marshall D. Teach "Blackbeard" vs Trafalgar D. Water Law
In the Egghead Arc, Teach decisively defeated Law (Image via Toei Animation)
After departing from Wano, the Heart Pirates came under assault by Blackbeard and a few of his associates near the shores of Winner Island. The skirmish was overwhelmingly one-sided, culminating in the decisive defeat of Trafalgar Law and his companions.
At first, Blackbeard's carelessness led to him being hit by Law's Shock Wille. Despite the dangerous blow, he was able to endure it without any consequences, quickly recovering and standing unharmed.
In a later chapter, Blackbeard was portrayed standing triumphantly and laughing over Law's body. As he contemplated what to do with Law's Ope-Ope Fruit, Bepo, in his Sulong form, managed to rescue the nearly unconscious Law and escape with him to the ocean.
Outcome: Blackbeard beat Law dramatically.
2) Monkey D. Luffy vs Rob Lucci
Luffy and Lucci faced off once again in Egghead (Image via Shueisha/Colored by Jljarx)
After two years since their epic battle in Enies Lobby, the two clashed in Egghead. At the start, they were evenly matched, with Lucci's Awakened Zoan-enhanced strength and Armament Haki proving to be a worthy match for Luffy's Gear 5 transformation and Armament Haki.
During the duel between Lucci and Luffy, both were hurled violently into their surroundings. Despite this, Luffy managed to overpower Lucci with three Gear 5 techniques, culminating in the devastating Gum-Gum Dawn Rocket, ultimately rendering Lucci unconscious.
Though the battle left Luffy unscathed, the effort of utilizing Gear 5 left him severely drained. In contrast, Lucci regained consciousness mere minutes after being knocked out. Throughout the confrontation, Luffy was unable to prevent Lucci from launching a fierce assault on Sentomaru. With his extraordinary speed and power, Lucci effortlessly penetrated Sentomaru's Haki defense, quickly subduing him.
Outcome: Luffy overwhelmed Lucci and temporarily knocked him out.
3) Roronoa Zoro vs Kaku
Zoro thwarted Kaku in Egghead (Image via Shueisha/Colored by JLjarx)
Similar to Lucci, Kaku made significant strides during the timeskip and rose to the rank of a CP0 elite agent. A clear indication of his remarkable progress, Kaku mastered the Sky Slicer, the most powerful Rankyaku, using just his base form, a feat that previously required his Zoan transformation.
As Kaku's Sky Slicer threatened to destroy the Thousand Sunny, Zoro, still asleep, instinctively detected the imminent danger. He awoke and swiftly deflected the attack with one of his swords. Kaku then transformed into his Awakened Zoan form and infused himself with Armament Haki.
Despite this, Zoro effortlessly outmatched him, using only his raw physical strength and Armament Haki-enhanced swords to counter Kaku's moves and overpower him, ultimately defeating him without needing to employ his true Haki abilities or deliver a serious attack.
Outcome: Zoro overpowered Kaku, but the battle was interrupted.
4) Stussy vs Kaku and Rob Lucci
Stussy's betrayal of Lucci and Kaku in the Egghead Arc (Image via Shueisha/Colored by JLjarx) was a shocking turn of events. Despite being one of CP0’s top agents, her loyalty lay with Vegapunk, the scientist who had created her as a clone of a member of the Rocks Pirates. In a surprising twist, just as Kaku was rising from Zoro's attack, Stussy revealed her true nature by sprouting vampire-like teeth and biting her own colleague.
By feeding on Kaku's blood, she induced him into a slumber. Incensed and bewildered by the sudden act of treachery, Lucci launched an attack at Stussy, only for her to evade the reckless assault and seize the opportunity to make contact with him using a piece of Seastone. As a result of his Devil Fruit abilities, Lucci was immediately debilitated, allowing Stussy to then take a bite of him.
Stussy skillfully capitalized on her deceitful powers and the disorientation caused by her unexpected betrayal. She admitted that she wouldn't have stood a chance otherwise. It's worth noting that Stussy acknowledged that Lucci and Kaku were too formidable for her to engage in a fair battle. Later in the narrative, she proved unable to defend herself against Lucci's most basic Shigan.
Outcome: Stussy cheap-shotted Lucci and Kaku, putting them to sleep with her tricky abilities.
5) Straw Hat Pirates, CP0, and Vegapunks vs Seraphim
In Egghead, S-Hawk, S-Bear, S-Snake, and S-Shark are depicted in an image by Shueisha and colored by JLjarx.
In order to carry out her plan, York deployed four Seraphim to eradicate anyone else on Egghead. Lucci and Kaku sought a temporary alliance with Luffy and Zoro against the Seraphim, and they began to fight against S-Hawk and S-Bear.
Meanwhile, the other members of the Straw Hat Pirates, aided by Vegapunk's satellites, were confronting S-Snake and S-Shark. Infused with King's Lunarian DNA, the Seraphim displayed extraordinary durability, withstanding even Luffy's strongest attacks without a scratch. Despite launching consecutive barrages of powerful attacks, the cyborgs remained unscathed, prompting Luffy to compare their toughness to that of Kaido. With that, the narrative shifted its focus to other locations and events, leaving Egghead behind.
Several chapters later, the Straw Hats and their allies, previously separated into different subgroups, were now assembled in one location. Meanwhile, the Seraphim found themselves confined within Vegapunk's special bubbles. The manga left the circumstances of this development vague, inviting speculation.
6) Shanks vs Eustass Kid

After departing from Wano, Kid and his crew arrived at Elbaf, the land of the Giants. The Red Hair Pirates were already on the island, with the Red Hair Fleet made up of individuals weaker than the main crew members surrounding the area. With a desire for revenge after a previous crushing defeat at the hands of the Red Hair Pirates, Kid chose to unleash his most powerful attack, the Damned Punk, in order to wipe out the Red Hair Fleet. However, Shanks utilized his Future Sight ability and anticipated Kid's plan to eliminate his weaker associates.
Shanks, using his Haoshoku Haki-imbued slash, Divine Departure, completely annihilated Kid and Killer by cutting through Kid's Railgun. In retaliation for their assault on their homeland, Dorry and Brogy destroyed Kid's ship.
7) Garp, Koby, and others vs Kuzan, Shiryu, Pizarro, and others
The storytelling temporarily shifted from Egghead to Hachinosu (Image via Toei Animation)
In order to rescue his beloved disciple Koby, who had been kidnapped by Blackbeard, Monkey D. Garp launched a full-on assault on Hachinosu, Blackbeard's lair. With the help of a few SWORD unit officers, Garp caused chaos on the island, facing off against former Admiral Kuzan "Aokiji", the dangerous Shiryu, Avalo Pizarro, and others.
Upon his arrival on Hachinosu, Garp decimated an entire town with one mighty blow. He then utilized his incredible physical strength to overpower Kuzan. The clash between Garp and the former Admiral was heart-wrenching, given their history as master and disciple.
Using Koby as a lure, Shiryu used his Haki-imbued sword to wound Garp. Despite his age, the "Marine Hero" prioritized the safety of others after being weakened by the attack. Garp managed to outmaneuver Kuzan and then used his Haki-amped punch to split the giant stone skull controlled by Pizarro's Devil Fruit in half, injuring Pizarro. Koby then finished the job with his Honesty Impact attack, destroying Pizarro’s huge stone hand. Proud of his disciple's growth, Garp smiled before ultimately succumbing to Kuzan and the others, ensuring the safety of the young SWORD officers.
Outcome: Garp sacrificed himself so that Koby and the others could escape.
8) Morley and Karasu vs Ryokugyu and Fujitora
The events of the Egghead Arc provided insight into the happenings at Mary Geoise (Image via Toei Animation).
In order to give their fellow revolutionaries the opportunity to carry out their mission at the Levely, Morley and Karasu, officers of the Revolutionary Army, confronted Fujitora and Ryokugyu in combat, effectively diverting their attention.
Under usual circumstances, the conflict would have been uneven. However, Morley and Karasu exploited the situation where the two Admirals had to restrain their power in order to prevent damage to Mary Geoise and the Celestial Dragons.
Amidst the chaos, Fujitora permitted a number of slaves to flee, provoking a heated confrontation with Ryokugyu.
Outcome: Inconclusive, but the Revolutionaries achieved their goals.
9) Sabo and Nefertari Cobra vs Imu-sama and the Five Elders
The Egghead Arc showcased a powerful flashback of the Reverie (Image via Shueisha/Colored by Amanomoon).
Disturbed by Nefertari Cobra’s probing questions about Void Century-related matters, the Five Elders made the decision to eliminate the monarch, especially after the former caught sight of Imu-sama seated on the Empty Throne. Sabo, who had successfully infiltrated the Pangaea Castle, attempted to intervene, but his efforts proved futile.
Imu transformed into a monstrous creature and swallowed Sabo’s flames, while the Five Elders effortlessly withstood his Fire Fist attack. As the Elders also transformed into devilish beings, Sabo attempted to flee with Cobra, but they were pierced by shadow arrows.
Struggling against the evil enemies, Sabo barely survived as Cobra sacrificed himself to ensure his escape. Accused of Cobra's murder, Sabo gained notoriety as the “Flame Emperor,” allegedly sparking the revolution by killing the ruler of a World Government-affiliated country.
Outcome: Sabo was dominated. He only escaped death thanks to Cobra's sacrifice.
10) Borsalino "Kizaru" vs Sentomaru

Once close friends, Kizaru and Sentomaru had a strong bond with Vegapunk and even shared joyful moments with Kuma and Bonney. However, their loyalties were put to the test when the World Government launched an assault on Egghead, forcing Kizaru and Sentomaru to take opposing sides.
Kizaru effortlessly overpowered Sentomaru, easily defeating him with a powerful laser attack after Sentomaru tried to counterattack and lost consciousness.
11) Monkey D. Luffy vs Borsalino "Kizaru"

As Kizaru continued to advance, Luffy suddenly appeared and launched a Haki-enhanced kick at him. Despite the powerful attack, the Admiral effortlessly parried it. Luffy then switched to his Gear 4: Snakeman form, but Kizaru easily blocked his strikes and sent him crashing into Egghead's Frontier Dome.
Forced to resort to Gear 5, Luffy used the form's incredible abilities to grab hold of Kizaru before he could harm Vegapunk and the others. Attempting to throw Kizaru into the sea, the Admiral calmly utilized his Logia powers to disperse his body into particles of light and reform unharmed.
Kizaru turned the particles into copies wielding a sword of light and attacked Luffy, causing a small injury. However, Luffy used the Gum-Gum Dawn Stamp technique to destroy the clones. When Kizaru aimed a laser at Vegapunk, Sanji, and the others, Luffy intercepted the attack just in time.
Then, Luffy enlarged his muscles and spun around to deliver a powerful Haki-amped attack, the Gum-Gum Star Gun, which sent Kizaru flying and supposedly injured him, forcing him to rest. Likewise, Luffy exhausted all his energy and reached his limits, also needing to rest.
Outcome: Still ongoing.
12) Roronoa Zoro vs Rob Lucci

Suddenly, Lucci betrayed the temporary alliance with the Straw Hats and launched a surprise Shigan attack on Vegapunk. Stussy tried to defend the scientist, but she ended up unconscious after using her body as a shield against Lucci’s deadly move.
Zoro intervened before Lucci could cause more harm and attacked him with two Armament Haki-imbued swords. Lucci defended himself with a combination of Armament Haki and Tekkai, but was still pushed back and crashed through the laboratory wall. The two engaged in a fast-paced fight, with Lucci using his Awakened Zoan form from the start and Zoro seemingly saving his full power of Conqueror’s Haki, only using the baseline stage of King of Hell Style.
Outcome: Still ongoing.
13) Sakazuki "Akainu" vs Bartholomew Kuma
Kuma was utterly overpowered by Akainu (Image via Toei Animation, One Piece)
Despite being liberated by his former allies from the chains of enslavement in Mary Geoise, Kuma inexplicably utilized his Paw-Paw Fruit to propel himself rapidly towards a specific destination. Before long, it became apparent that his intended destination was none other than Mary Geoise.
After ascended the Red Line, Kuma continued to advance, paying no mind to the attempts of some Marines to hold him back. But when Fleet Admiral Sakazuki “Akainu” intervened at the behest of the Celestial Dragons, Kuma was forced to confront him.
Due to the devastating capabilities of the Mag-Mag Fruit, Akainu swiftly gained the upper hand, causing severe harm to Kuma. In order to avoid further harm, Kuma utilized the powers of the Paw-Paw Fruit to escape, leaving Akainu pondering the reasons behind Kuma's actions.
Outcome: Akainu injured Kuma and forced him to flee.
14) Saint Saturn vs Jewelry Bonney, Sanji, and Franky
During the Egghead Arc, Saturn faced off against Bonney and Sanji in a fierce confrontation. Displeased with the situation on the island, Saint Saturn took matters into his own hands. He underwent a terrifying transformation, morphing into a creature resembling a ushi-oni, complete with menacing horns on his head and spider-like legs in place of his lower limbs. When Bonney saw the person responsible for ruining Kuma's life, she felt an overwhelming urge to seek revenge. But Saturn effortlessly brushed off Bonney's attempted attack and retaliated, striking her and Sanji. Unable to defend themselves against Saturn's immense power, Bonney, Sanji, and the others appeared helpless. However, Bartholomew Kuma arrived just in time to protect his beloved adoptive daughter, turning the desperate situation around.
Outcome: Saturn effortlessly subdued Bonney and the others.

After plowing through several Marines, including a Vice Admiral, Kuma intercepted Saturn's strike with his own cyborg-enhanced body. Despite being visibly injured, Kuma grabbed Saturn's leg and launched a furious punch at him, seemingly empowered with Armament Haki.
The outcome of this intense battle will only be revealed in the upcoming issues of the One Piece manga, starting with chapter 1104. Though Saturn is a formidable opponent, Kuma is determined to exact revenge on the man who took everything from him - including Ginny's life, his human consciousness, and Bonney's safety.

As a Gen Z netizen, I am thrilled about the upcoming Egghead Arc in One Piece. The anime adaptation promises intense battles and unexpected twists that will keep me on the edge of my seat. The clash between Blackbeard and Law is particularly exciting, as it showcases the immense power of the former and the resilience of the latter. I can't wait to see how Law manages to escape from Blackbeard's clutches and what role he will play in the upcoming events.
The battle between Luffy and Lucci is another highlight of the Egghead Arc. It's great to see Luffy's growth and mastery of Gear 5, which allows him to overpower even formidable opponents like Lucci. However, the fact that Lucci quickly regains consciousness and manages to injure Sentomaru raises questions about Luffy's overall strength and the challenges he will face in the future.
