The Valley star Brittany Cartwright shared that she is feeling "strong" during her separation from Jax Taylor. "I feel good," Cartwright, 35, said in an exclusive interview with We on Tuesday, April 2, while promoting season 1 of The Valley. She mentioned feeling proud of herself for prioritizing her mental health and her family.
Cartwright announced in February that she and Taylor, 44, had split up after almost five years of marriage. They are still co-parenting their son Cruz, who was born in 2021. Cartwright admitted that in the past, she had ignored issues with Taylor too many times instead of focusing on her own needs.
"I have forgiven things that I shouldn't have over the years, but I have always loved him so much and supported him no matter what," she shared with Us. "I have always defended him, always said sorry, always cleaned up messes, and after nine years, that can really take a toll on you."

The Bravo star mentioned that they have their ups and downs in the relationship. He also experiences fluctuations in his feelings. Initially, he was not in favor of his partner leaving, but now he seems to be more accepting of the idea.
Cartwright and Taylor are currently living apart. However, they have not considered getting a divorce at this point.
Cartwright explained that she has been living in an Airbnb since January and although she thinks about it, she is not ready to make a decision yet. She mentioned that it is challenging when you have a child, causing her to go back and forth with her feelings. Some days she feels like she will never come back, while other times she is open to seeing what the future holds. So, everything is uncertain at the moment.
As she continues to navigate through the separation from her partner, Cartwright hinted that she is open to the idea of dating and putting herself out there in the dating scene.
She jokingly mentioned that she wouldn't call herself single, but is she open to meeting new people? Possibly, she added, but only if it's someone truly special.
Cartwright emphasized that she and Taylor have not had a formal discussion about their separation.

"We haven't really talked much about that kind of stuff yet, but I think part of the break is about exploring and figuring out what we truly want for our relationship," she shared. "Are we meant to reconcile or would we be happier with someone else? It's a bit strange. It's quite unpredictable."
Cartwright also mentioned that she would definitely want more children and to provide siblings for Cruz, but she added that this decision hinges on her current relationship status with Taylor.
"Am I going to be in another relationship? Is it going to be back with Jax?" she asked. "I'm not sure yet, but I won't stay in a relationship just to have another child. Right now, I have Cruz and I feel incredibly blessed to have him. Some people aren't even fortunate enough to have one child, so I'll always be grateful for that."
