Wilfried Gnonto has handed in a written transfer request at Leeds United, We News understands.

Gnonto is reportedly unhappy at being denied a move away from Elland Road so far this summer.

Leeds terminated discussions regarding a possible transfer to Everton last week and emphasized that he was not available for purchase.

There have been ongoing negotiations with Everton for approximately one month leading up to this.

During that period, Everton presented a series of four offers to Gnonto, with the most recent one amounting to £25m, which includes additional bonuses and a sell-on clause. As a result of the events that transpired, Gnonto opted to make himself unavailable for the matches against Shrewsbury and Birmingham. Furthermore, he was absent from the squad that played against West Brom on Friday evening, which was broadcasted live on We.

Following Leeds' Carabao Cup victory over Shrewsbury on August 9, Leeds manager Daniel Farke stated, "While I strive to be open and honest, I must admit that there are circumstances where I am unable to provide a complete picture. I simply do not have control over such situations. However, I will share with you the facts I can disclose, without intending to fabricate a narrative. The fact of the matter is, he was unavailable. There will come a time for further remarks."

Leeds stated the next day that Willy Gnonto and his representatives were notified by the club that he would not be transferred in the current summer.

After these discussions, Willy believed that he couldn't participate in the Carabao Cup match against Shrewsbury Town on Wednesday night.

Willy has communicated to Daniel Farke that despite undergoing training for the past two days, he is still not confident in his ability to participate in the upcoming match against Birmingham tomorrow [August 12]. As a consequence, he has not made the journey to Birmingham.

The club considers this situation to be an internal disciplinary issue and therefore will refrain from elaborating further, except to emphasize that Willy is not available for transfer.
