Daniel Farke has been named the new manager of Leeds United for a four-year term as they prepare for their return to the Championship. He takes over from Sam Allardyce, who was unable to secure the team's position in the Premier League and departed in early June, just two months after his appointment.
The German was at Bundesliga club Borussia Monchengladbach last season but was sacked following just one campaign after guiding them to a 10th-placed finish.

Farke won the Championship twice with former club Norwich City in 2019 and 2021
Farke's arrival at Leeds marks his return to English football after a successful four-year tenure at Norwich. During his time there, he accomplished the feat of winning the Championship on two occasions, in both 2019 and 2021, only to face dismissal by the club nearly two years ago.
Following his departure from Norwich, Farke briefly assumed the role of manager at Russian club Krasnodar in January 2022. However, due to the invasion of Ukraine by the country, he decided to leave the club without even having the opportunity to manage any games for them, just two months later.
Upon being appointed at Elland Road, Farke expressed his gratitude for the incredibly warm reception. He acknowledged the privilege of working for such an exceptional club and expressed humility in the face of the responsibilities and expectations placed upon him. Farke reiterated his desire to prove himself and repay the trust invested in him.
My utmost priority is to reestablish a sense of togetherness and unity within this club. Starting today, I will collaborate closely with my team and players in pursuit of this goal. Additionally, I have full confidence that our devoted supporters will stand by us in times of need. Anticipation for the inaugural game of the season is mounting within me.

Leeds vice-chairman and director Paraag Marathe expressed his excitement over Daniel's appointment as their first-team manager, following an extensive recruitment process.
