"Our dear husband, father, and grandfather has passed away, leaving us with heavy hearts. Although he has left behind great football memories for both his club and country, we hope he will also be remembered for the love, laughter, and bravery that defined his career and family life - especially during his recent struggles with illness."

Our home was a hub of activity, with a steady stream of loved ones and football enthusiasts. Their unwavering support was a source of comfort for my father as he battled against the cruel effects of dementia. Despite the disease cutting his life short, we choose to honor his memory by remembering the man who lived life to the fullest. He was the epitome of an entertainer, the center of every gathering, the driving force behind every team, and the most joyful father, husband, and grandfather we could have ever hoped for.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the exceptional staff at Herriot Hospice Homecare for their exceptional care, the remarkable Marie Curie team who stood by us until the very end, and the Head for Change organization for providing us with emotional support and respite care.

Last but not least, we want to express our heartfelt appreciation to our dear friends and family who have been an unwavering source of support and love throughout our journey."

"You will remain in our hearts always".
