At Leeds Magistrates' Court, David Derbyshire, a Leeds United supporter residing on Marley Street in Beeston, received a 12-week incarceration term and a six-year ban from attending football matches for assaulting Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe at Elland Road during a game between the two teams.
On May 13 of this year, Derbyshire physically confronted Howe in the pitch-side technical area of Newcastle. Subsequently, security personnel escorted the Leeds supporter away, leading the club to issue a lifetime ban in response to the assault at their stadium.
