Katie Thurston surprised everyone with her bold comments about her ex-fiancé Blake Moynes during a roast on Bachelor in Paradise. She claimed that he wanted her to refer to him as "daddy" in the bedroom. Blake, 33, responded to Katie's comments during the December 1 episode of "Off the Vine" podcast when Kaitlyn Bristowe asked him directly about it.
"Oh, whoops, do I need to answer that?" he chuckled, taking a sip from his coffee mug. "Look, I'll admit: I definitely take charge in the bedroom. As for saying it out loud? Maybe after a few drinks, because it's not easy to talk about that when you're sober."
He went on, saying: "It's not necessarily the word I'm a fan of. It's more the dominance that it suggests. The word just hints at that."
Blake proposed to Katie, 32, on season 17 of The Bachelorette, which premiered in August 2021. Despite their efforts to maintain their relationship from a distance, they decided to end their engagement in October.
Katie Thurston had a brief relationship with her former Bachelorette contestant John Hersey before becoming the lead in the current season of The CW’s FBoy Island. Meanwhile, Blake Moynes made a return to Bachelor Nation on BiP earlier this year.
While serving in BiP, Blake quickly bonded with Jessica Girod, who had previously appeared on The Bachelor with Zach Shallcross, despite their nine-year age difference. During their time together on the beach, they became the subject of Katie's comedy roast in the November 16 episode.
Katie jokingly remarked, "It’s no surprise that Jess’ name is ‘Baby Jess,’ [because] Blake used to make me call him daddy," causing Blake to cover his face in embarrassment.
While speaking with Kaitlyn, 38, he admitted that the NSFW confession was “relatable.”
Blake Moynes appeared on Off the Vine with Kaitlyn Bristowe and said, "Everyone else is sitting here being, like, ‘Oh, that’s crazy.’ It’s like, ‘No, you damn well know you’ve been there — especially after a few drinks.’ So, don’t put this on me like I’m a weirdo. There’s a bunch of you out there."
Blake decided to leave BiP on his own, departing before the rose ceremony on Thursday, November 30, after realizing that Jess, 24, was not fully committed to their relationship. He is currently not seeing anyone.

"I recently decided to use a dating app to try and have conversations with people because I spend most of my time working in animal conservation and don't meet many new people," Blake explained to Kaitlyn. "Using these apps helps me see who's interested and available in my city, aside from the occasional direct message."
Bachelor in Paradise’s season 9 finale airs on ABC Thursday, December 7, at 8 p.m. ET.
