The Bachelor alum Carly Waddell is excited to introduce her new boyfriend, Todd Allen Tressler, to the world.

Waddell shared on Instagram that she first noticed Tressler on the midday news last year when her TV was on mute. She was immediately drawn to him not just for his looks, but also for his smile and confidence. She mentioned that his voice, which she described as very deep and southern, added to his charm.

The Bachelor Nation alum remembered feeling the urge to recall Tressler's name as she went to grab a snack for her 3-year-old son Charlie. (Waddell has two children, Charlie and Bella, aged 5, with her ex-husband Evan Bass, whom she met on Bachelor in Paradise.)

She couldn't get the mystery man out of her mind for weeks. She confided in her friends, who encouraged her to reach out to him, but fear held her back. "I finally mustered up the courage to look him up. After a few too many glasses of wine, I decided to message him on social media."

Waddell revealed that Tressler wasn't a fan of The Bachelor and initially suspected his friends were pranking him. However, he eventually decided to follow Waddell back and enjoyed some of her videos with her two kids, which helped alleviate Waddell's concerns about being a single mom in the dating scene.

"In return, I liked one of his posts and jokingly said, 'So are we just going to keep liking each other's stuff?' He then mentioned he was old-fashioned and would like to give me a call sometime," she recalled. "I mustered up the courage to ask him out in a rather awkward voice message that I never thought would actually send, but it did by mistake. He chuckled and agreed to go out."

The pair went on a date and Waddell expressed to her mom that the outing was "magical" and that she would compare all future dates to it. Despite feeling a strong connection, Waddell shared that she initially kept Tressler off her social media to allow her children to develop a bond with him.

"So here’s what I have been up to all year. I've been loving my lovable lawyer who also told me that I showed him what real love is, and he has done the same for me ❤️," she concluded. " @tat_two (I was planning on a soft launch ... but here we are ... I always tend to do things a little differently than I probably should)."

Waddell hinted that she was dating someone in November 2023. During an episode of “The Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcast,” she mentioned, “He’s older than me.” She also added, “He’s literally everything I’ve ever wanted in a person.”

After her divorce from Bass in 2020, Waddell was unsure about starting to date again. However, she believed that things could change if she met the right person.

"I have this fantasy that one day I'll be out walking around and I'll meet this amazing man who will truly impress me," she shared exclusively with We during the May 2023 episode of the "Here for the Right Reasons" podcast. "That's what I envision for myself. I'm manifesting that."
