For Carly Waddell, it turns out her something borrowed on her wedding day was her dress.
"I was disappointed that I couldn't keep my dress," Waddell shared with Jason Tartick on the "Trading Secrets" podcast episode aired on November 7th.
Waddell and Bass connected on season 3 of Bachelor in Paradise back in 2016, resulting in their engagement. The Bachelor franchise funded their wedding and provided $25,000 to the couple for televising the ceremony in 2017. Waddell mentioned that Bass was particularly eager to tie the knot on television.
"That wasn't something I had planned," Waddell expressed on the podcast. "After returning from Paradise, our relationship was facing various challenges. I started questioning if this was the right decision, especially considering the intense public scrutiny. And, I wasn't sure. He approached them, asking, 'How can we have a wedding on the show?'"
Waddell remembered that both of them were uncertain whether their wedding would proceed due to the suspension of production on season 4 of BiP. (In 2017, filming was halted following allegations of sexual misconduct involving contestants DeMario Jackson and Corrine Olympios.)
The wedding eventually took place, and shortly after, Waddell discovered she was pregnant. They later had a daughter named Bella, who is now 5 years old, and a son named Charlie, who is 3. However, the couple ended their relationship in 2020.
Earlier this year, Waddell personally revealed to We that she finds coparenting with Bass to be effortless.
"He has previous experience, you know what I mean? He has three older children, with the oldest being around 21 or 22 years old. The middle child is heading off to college. He has been involved in their upbringing since they were infants, so he knows what he's doing," she shared during the "Here for the Right Reasons" podcast in April. "His kids visit him every other weekend. Initially, I was curious about what they do during their time there, but now I trust that he has everything under control. If any issues arise, such as illness, we discuss and resolve them together. But honestly, it's not a problem. It's quite effortless."
During the "The Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcast" in October, Waddell disclosed that she has been in a new relationship for the past four months."
“He’s older than me,” Waddell teased, keeping her “supportive” boyfriend’s name under wraps. “He’s literally everything I’ve ever wanted in a human.”
