The couple revealed in August 2023 that they were expecting. "We've been keeping a secret," they posted on Instagram along with photos of Fardo's baby bump. "Our family is growing and our hearts are so full! This is a dream come true for us and we're so thrilled to be welcoming our baby girl in January 2024."

Palmer, aged 45, and Fardo, aged 38, began their relationship in 2017, and after two years, they got engaged. Originally planning to marry in France in 2020, the couple instead opted for a small ceremony in Connecticut due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In October 2021, they revealed that they had actually been married since June 2020.
“We had originally planned a wedding in Provence, France, for summer 2020, which was postponed until summer of 2021 due to the pandemic, but we didn’t want to wait any longer,” Palmer told We in an exclusive interview. “So, we had a small, private and intimate ceremony with close friends who lived in New York City.”
Palmer reflected on the lack of change in his relationship with Fardo since their official commitment. "I still wake up every morning with the woman of my dreams," he shared enthusiastically. "The only real difference is wearing a ring, but I'm growing accustomed to it - and loving it!"
A year later, Palmer and Fardo celebrated a second wedding in France. "So ... we made it official," he wrote in a July 2022 Instagram post. "After canceling our wedding twice due to Covid and then eloping in Connecticut, Emely and I finally got married (again) in front of our immediate families in Provence, France."
He exclaimed, "It was absolutely flawless. It was the day we had dreamed of for 3 years. It was a truly magical day filled with love, tears (I may have cried ... a lot) and gratitude."
Before meeting Fardo, Palmer was the Bachelor for season 5 in 2004. Even though he didn't find lasting love on the show, he shared with Us in January 2022 that he "gained a lot of insight about myself" as the main participant.

"I took a leap of faith and it paid off. It's like a cheesy football analogy, but leaving it all on the field has helped me in my romantic life as I matured and eventually met my wife, Emely," he explained. "Learning to be open and vulnerable, to communicate effectively, and acknowledge my feelings has taken me far. It's opened up more opportunities personally and professionally than I could have ever imagined. I feel incredibly fortunate to have had that chance in 2004."
In 2022, Palmer made a comeback as the host of the Bachelor franchise after Chris Harrison's departure.
