Although he is less insufferable compared to the original anime, toning down his negative traits may affect his appeal. Usopp is known for being a braggart who fabricates stories and exaggerates his achievements. In the anime, his arrogance and frequent lies were emphasized, leading to satisfying revelations of the truth. However, in the live-action series, the recurring joke of Luffy believing his every word while others see through him is missing, possibly due to time constraints. They seamlessly fit into the anime, which works for these villainous characters intended to be slightly frightening. However, it is difficult to envision how good-natured fish-men like Jinbe would be portrayed.

One Piece continues to function relatively well as an adaptation, however, it has begun implementing changes that are detrimental. While the omission of certain elements may enrage die-hard fans, it ultimately enhances the overall experience of the live-action series. There are other losses that evoke sadness but are not crucial to the narrative. In this episode, a death occurs that will elicit both sorrow and anger among viewers. The show effectively captures the varied tones of the original anime, which remains the utmost priority. The endeavor to create a live-action rendition of One Piece was always bound to be an arduous task. Despite its commendable performance, each episode uncovers more flaws in this ship's hull.

One Piece is not as disastrous as Cowboy Bebop, despite originating from the same peculiar source. It can serve as a delightful treat for anime fans, as long as it is appreciated for what it truly is. This lavishly crafted adaptation can only aspire to capture the delight found in the original work. The series appears to understand its position and successfully fulfills its essential requirements. While it may never fully escape accusations of being meaningless, it confidently asserts its worth. Allow One Piece to explore these cherished characters and scenes. It offers harmless amusement, even if it occasionally misses its intended target.
