Drake's latest music video '8AM in Charlotte' showcases an endearing surprise appearance by his 5-year-old son, Adonis, stealing hearts with his adorable cameo

Drake's 5-year-old son, Adonis, effortlessly captivates the audience in his father's latest music video release. Premiered on Thursday, October 5, the video for Drake's single "8AM in Charlotte" opens with an endearing exchange between father and son. Drake lovingly inquires about a piece of artwork that he purchased from Adonis, and the charming youngster launches into an adorably animated explanation of the drawing's narrative.

"The goat was desperately fleeing from the relentless pursuit of both monsters and other animals. Suddenly, a fiery flower obstructed its path, but a racing car, perhaps acting as its guardian, came to its aid," describes Adonis, gazing at his artistic creation. "Furthermore, there were these peculiar stairs resembling those of a prison, with a lone figure standing on top, tragically meeting their demise by the racing track."

In the center of the page, the letters "SBW" were inscribed, although Adonis assures Drake that they hold no particular significance. "It's not a word, just my desire to write SBW," he explains.

Drake notices his name next to the goat in the drawing and questions if the goat symbolizes him. Adonis confirms that it does, referring to him as "Daddy Goat." The introduction concludes with Drake playfully teasing Adonis about the value of his artwork, to which the young boy amusingly responds, "Oh, please."

Later in the video, Adonis, who is Drake's son with ex-girlfriend Sophie Brussaux, is seen dancing alongside his father. He is wearing a black shirt that says "Hate Survivor," matching with other individuals featured in the footage.

Several fans expressed their admiration for Adonis’ charming presence in the music video after its release. "Adonis is incredibly cute and talented," one fan commented via X (formerly Twitter), while another fan stated, "Adonis' talking is absolutely adorable, and Drake absolutely nailed it."

The music video for "8AM in Charlotte" premiered the day before Drake's highly anticipated album, For All the Dogs, was released. In a previous announcement in August, Drake shared that the album cover art was created by Adonis, depicting a white dog with red eyes drawn in crayon against a black backdrop.

Shortly prior to revealing the album's artwork, Drake gained attention for retaliating against fellow hip-hop artist Lil Yachty. Lil Yachty accused Drake of sharing a picture of himself braiding Adonis' hair solely for the purpose of gaining popularity.

In a comment on Drake's Instagram post on August 11, Lil Yachty, aged 26, stated, "You can't pretend you're braiding his hair for the sake of the internet." In response, Drake wrote, "I was actually unbraiding it, dear. Your child claimed you haven't contacted him in six months through his finsta. He mentioned he needs new Jordans and a backpack for school." (It should be noted that Lil Yachty made an announcement about the birth of his daughter in October 2021, but does not appear to have a son.)
