The TLC reality star, who is featured on 1000-Lb. Sisters with her younger sister Amy Slaton, has shed over 400 pounds recently.

On top of the health advantages, Tammy shared that losing weight has opened up new possibilities for her, such as considering learning how to drive.

Tammy responded to a fan's question on TikTok in December 2023, saying that she does want to learn eventually. However, she explained that her anxiety is currently overwhelming due to a lot going on in her life. She mentioned taking baby steps towards learning.

Recently, Tammy shared that she tried driving a golf cart but decided to take it slow and didn't go too fast.

In September 2022, Tammy underwent gastric bypass surgery which was largely responsible for the massive weight loss.

In June 2023, she shared with People that she made the decision to undergo surgery. Thanks to the procedure, her lungs became stronger, allowing her to have her tracheostomy tube removed. Recently, her doctor even gave her the green light to go without her oxygen machine during the daytime.

Tammy shared, "I now only use my oxygen at night, along with my BiPap machine. I make sure to check my oxygen levels during the day and keep my machine nearby just in case."

After her surgery, Tammy has had to stay focused on her health and diet objectives. One of the toughest challenges has been reducing her consumption of her favorite "sodies" (also known as soda pop).

Tammy mentioned in a TikTok video from November 2023 that she doesn't drink sodas as much as before. She stated that she might have two 12-ounce cans a day, but sometimes she only has one, or even none at all.
