Tammy Slaton, a star from the show "1000-Lb. Sisters," recently lost her husband Caleb Willingham at the age of 40. Shirley Willingham, Caleb's stepmother, confirmed the sad news to TMZ on July 1st without providing any additional information about his passing.

Slaton, aged 36, later opened up about Caleb's passing through a heartfelt Instagram post. On Saturday, she shared throwback photos of them together and wrote, "Rest in peace, sweet angel. You will always be remembered and dearly loved. Thank you, Caleb, for showing me authentic love and happiness." Both Slaton and Caleb crossed paths while receiving treatment for obesity-related concerns at an Ohio-based rehabilitation center in 2021.

In a March episode of 1000-Lb. Sisters, he shared with their fellow patients at Windsor Lane Rehabilitation Center, "Tammy actually saved my life the other day. I was desperately in need of oxygen and in excruciating pain. Tears were streaming down my face, but she came to my rescue. Her act of kindness meant the world to me."

Later in the scene, Caleb explained that Slaton's successful weight loss journey was what motivated him to join the Windsor Lane program. "Hearing about someone's remarkable progress made me take the leap," he concluded.

The couple got married at the facility in November 2022, a year after their engagement.

Slaton, who stars alongside her sister Amy Slaton on 1000-Lb. Sisters, shared with E! News in January that their wedding day was the most memorable of their lives. She expressed gratitude for the presence of many family members and their friends from rehab. Slaton humorously mentioned that during their first kiss, her partner accidentally hit the control switch, causing her to fall back into her wheelchair.

After their wedding, Tammy had gastric bypass surgery while Caleb provided support.

"We fully support each other," she revealed in an exclusive interview with We in February. "When either of us struggles with cravings due to boredom or emotional eating, we turn to each other and have open discussions about the situation. It goes both ways - I confide in him as well. We openly communicate our challenges and explore the underlying reasons behind them. We are genuine partners."

Tammy added at the time: “He treats me so different from any other person I was with. He truly was a godsend [through my weight-loss efforts].”

Caleb is survived by wife Tammy and his parents.
