The questline called "The Impa and the Geoglyphs" in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is remarkably extensive.

To progress, players must locate 12 distinct Geoglyphs scattered throughout Hyrule. Each Geoglyph holds a unique mysterious memory contained within a water pool found somewhere on the site. Similar to Breath of the Wild, these Memories contain crucial story cutscenes in Tears of the Kingdom. Now, let's explore the precise locations where players can discover each one.

Updated November 1st, 2023 by Jacob Buchalter: Discovering all the Memories in Tears of the Kingdom was definitely one of the most thrilling aspects of the game, which is quite impressive considering the overall excitement level of the game. However, the tale unveiled through these Memories that Link uncovers in the Geoglyphs deviates significantly from other LoZ storylines. This fact becomes even more evident as players progress through the 'Impa and the Geoglyphs' Questline, culminating in a final (albeit 'extra') Memory that caught many Nintendo fans off guard. So, let's delve into the locations of each and every one of these Geoglyphs, ensuring that players can piece together the complete narrative.

The initial memory, starting at Memory 3, is easily accessible to players. Impa assists them in viewing the complete Geoglyph from a high vantage point. The Geoglyph depicts a Zonai, likely Rauru. Players can reach this location by heading to the New Serenne Stable in the North Hyrule Plain and following the road towards the north of the map.

Shortly after passing a fork in the road—one leading north and the other south—players will spot Impa standing on a platform overlooking the Geoglyph. They should engage in conversation with her to officially begin the quest. Impa then guides Link to the pool of water near the top of the Geoglyph.

Tanagar Canyon

Beginning at the initial Geoglyph with Impa, players should proceed straight towards the northwest until they come across Lindor's Brow Skyview Tower. This Tower can be easily spotted due to the prominent spotlights. Once the Tower is opened and activated, reaching the subsequent Geoglyph becomes an effortless task.

Ride the Tower upwards and observe the ground towards the northwestern side. From this viewpoint, players can spot the next Geoglyph, resembling a castle or a large structure, potentially Rauru's castle. It is situated just beyond the Tanagar Canyon. Utilize the Paraglide to reach the location and direct yourself towards the droplet-shaped formation positioned above the 'entrance' of the building within the Geoglyph. There, you will discover the Dragon Tear pool.

Lake Ferona

The next Geoglyph is located quite a distance away from the first two. To reach it, Link simply needs to head towards Death Mountain and Zora's Domain to the east. Specifically, head to Lake Ferona on the map (located south of Death Mountain) and activate the Eldin Canyon Skyview Tower just west of the lake.

Once the tower is activated, use it to ascend into the sky and look directly south. Players should be able to spot the next Geoglyph, which is shaped like Zelda's Purah Pad, just northeast of Zelo Pond on the map. Glide over to the Geoglyph and go to the center of the droplet-shaped 'eyelash' of the Shiekah Eye on the pad to find the pool where the Memory is located.

Baltrea Lake

Returning to Central Hyrule, the upcoming Geoglyph is conveniently situated in close proximity to both the Sahasra Slope Skyview Tower and the Riverside Stable. To be more accurate, it can be found directly east of Baltrea Lake, which resides between the two aforementioned locations.

Fire Link out from the Sahasra Tower and gaze towards Baltrea Lake to easily spot the Geoglyph. Initially, it may be visually perplexing, but once the Memory is observed, it becomes instantly apparent that this is a Molduga. As for the precise location of the pool, it remains concealed amidst the trees (beware of the ones that are in constant motion), nearer to the tail, within another section of the image resembling a teardrop-like shape.

Gerudo Highlands (Gerudo Highlands Skyview Tower)

To reach the seventh Dragon Tear, players need to travel to the Gerudo Highlands in the southwest area of Hyrule. Upon arrival, they should go southwest until they spot the Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower, or they can also go to the Gerudo Highlands Skyview Tower just south of the 'Gerudo Highlands' label on the map.

Once at either tower, players must solve the puzzles to activate them and then launch Link upwards in a northwest direction (or slightly south and east for the Highlands Tower). If viewed from above, players will be able to clearly see the Geoglyph in the shape of a man kneeling. They should head towards the flat cliffside near the top of the man's head, where they will find the pool containing the Memory.

Illumeni Plateau

These two Geoglyphs are located in close proximity to each other, serving as an illustration of such instances. To find them on the map, simply navigate the cursor northwards from the icon indicating the 7th Memory's position. Continue moving north until you reach the Illumeni Plateau. It is worth noting that if this area of the map has not yet been revealed, the plateau can be found approximately halfway up the obscured section resembling a lack of a map.

This Geoglyph stands out due to its rare absence of a nearby Skyview Tower, unlike most others. To reach the intended location, players can either make use of the Lindor's Brow Skyview Tower in the northeast or the Gerudo Highlands Skyview Tower in the southwest. However, neither option guarantees that Link will reach his destination entirely, unless he employs a Glider trick or some form of Zonai Wing contraption. From an aerial perspective, this Geoglyph clearly depicts a long-haired woman gazing upwards, which is undoubtedly the beloved character Sonia. To locate the pool containing the Memory, head towards the center of the lowest 'curl' of her hair.

Cape Cresia

Heading towards the final few Geoglyphs, the 9th one is located at the outermost edge of Hyrule's map on one side. To uncover it, players must make their way to East Necluda and find the crescent-shaped peninsula just south of the words 'East Necluda' on the map. This peninsula is known as Cape Cresia and the Geoglyph completely covers its entirety, depicting an intricately curved dagger.

This particular Geoglyph is located quite far from the nearest Skyview Tower, with the Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower to the northwest being a significant distance away. However, it is highly recommended to activate this Tower first and utilize its height to glide as close as possible to the Cape. Once at the Geoglyph, the pool can be found near the hilt of the dagger, specifically in the northmost section, pointing towards Palmorae Beach.

Hebra Mountains (Snowfield Stable)

The 7th table placeholder is positioned in the northernmost middle 'section' of the Geoglyph, which can be found on the direct diagonal opposite side of the map from the 9th Dragon Tear in the Hebra Mountains. To provide a more accurate location, the Geoglyph is nearly directly north of the Snowfield Stable, near the edge of the map, or northeast of the Pikida Stonegrove Skyview Tower. While avoiding spoilers, it is difficult to determine the exact depiction of the Geoglyph, but it appears to represent a large monster or demon. Despite the uncertain details, it is worth noting that the pool containing this terrifying Memory, which may not be suitable for children, can be found at the specified location.

Disclaimer: Memories 11, 14, and 16 are all story-related and not part of this Questline, which is why it goes from Memory 10 to 12 and 13 to 15.

The next Tear in the line can be found on the eastern edge of the map. To locate it easily, players can move their cursor directly south from the 'L' in 'Lanayru Sea' on the fully zoomed-out map screen. They will be able to pinpoint the Geoglyph right before the spot where it says 'Talus Plateau'.

Players can make use of nearby Skyview Towers to reach the location. Either the Upland Zorana Skyview Tower or the Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower will get them most of the way there, and they can use Wing gliding for the rest of the journey. Once players reach the entrance to the Talus Plateau, they will easily spot the Geoglyph. It depicts something that only becomes clear after watching the memory regarding the 'Sages'. Regardless, players will find the pool in the bottom left corner of the Glyph.

For the penultimate Geoglyph in this questline (though it is technically the third to last), make your way towards the area where the Bridge of Hylia is situated on the map. You will find the next Geoglyph directly on the western 'edge' of Lake Hylia, running parallel to Hylia Island. This Geoglyph portrays a Tombstone adorned with flowers placed in front of it.

The pool of this Geoglyph is on the left 'flower' in the middle of its three petals.

After completing the King's Duty Memory, players can proceed towards the final Dragon Tear among all the Geoglyphs, which, as the title suggests, portrays the Master Sword. To locate it, head directly south from the location indicated by the 'Eldin Mountains' text on the map. As a helpful tip, players can choose to first access the Thyphlo Ruins Skyview Tower situated at the center of a small landmass surrounded by water just north of the Great Hyrule Forest.

In any case, a short distance south of the road adjacent to the Eldin Mountains text lies the next Geoglyph, etched into the side of a cliff. Similar to the 7th Dragon Tear, players should search for a flat area near the tip of the sword's hilt, as this is where the final Dragon Tear pool will be found.

Rist Peninsula

Following the 11th Memory, players will be treated to a captivating cutscene revealing the discovery of yet another Dragon Tear location. This remarkable find is situated at the heart of a captivating spiral landmass known as the Rist Peninsula. Positioned far northeast on the map, the Rist Peninsula can be found directly north of the Talus Plateau.

Make your way to the center of the spiral where you will find the 'actual' final Dragon Tear pool. It should be easily visible, without a Geoglyph surrounding it. While there are additional steps to complete in this Questline after the Memory, this is all you need to know about the Geoglyphs. Since the game has been around for a while now, most players are likely already aware that this is the memory that introduces the fourth dragon, in addition to Dinraal, Farosh, and Naydra.

Editor's P/S

As a long-time fan of The Legend of Zelda series, I was thrilled to hear about the upcoming release of Tears of the Kingdom. The game promises to be a thrilling adventure, filled with all the elements that make the series so beloved: challenging puzzles, memorable characters, and stunning visuals. I can't wait to explore the new world of Hyrule and discover all its secrets.

One of the things I'm most excited about is the new questline called "The Impa and the Geoglyphs." This quest will task players with locating 12 distinct Geoglyphs scattered throughout Hyrule. Each Geoglyph holds a unique memory, which will help to piece together the story of the game. I love the idea of exploring Hyrule in search of these hidden treasures, and I can't wait to see what secrets they hold.
