Absolutely

Ring garlands are a common sight in Tears of the Kingdom, hanging in stables and villages. These decorative items are available for purchase, but players will need to complete the Crisis in Hyrule Castle quest before they can obtain one. In the game, the new Fuse Ability allows players to combine various materials and weapons to create melee weapons, shields, and arrows with increased durability. However, not all objects are worth fusing, and players will need to fuse the Ring Garland if they want to use it effectively.

Ring Garland: A Unique Accessory

Ring Garland is a unique accessory created by Koko in Kakariko Village (coordinates: 1822, -1002, 0112). These charming decorations are modeled after the giant, ring-shaped ruins that appeared in the village after The Upheaval. You'll notice them adorning most stores and houses, and even some of the villagers are sporting flower crowns made from Ring Garland. Although Link may not be able to wear a flower crown, he can purchase Ring Garland from Koko for a mere 5 Rupees.

As soon as players get their hands on the Ring Garland, they'll notice that it doesn't go into the Materials Inventory. However, it can be picked up and even fused, with or without the Ultrahand. But carrying it around during Link's travels can be a hassle, which is why fusing it to a shield is a smart move. It's recommended to fuse the Garland to a shield with low durability, like one with a durability of 7, since the Ring Garland only provides 1 point of durability.

To fuse the Garland and shield together, follow these steps:

First, equip a shield from the inventory menu or by pressing left on the directional pad and scrolling with the R-stick. Keep in mind that the shield cannot already be fused for this to work. Then, hold down the L-button and select the blue Fuse icon (sword) with the R-stick. Highlight the Ring Garland as the target and press the ZL-button to fuse it to Link's shield.

While the Ring Garland may be aesthetically pleasing, it lacks in durability. However, for those who paid the 5 Rupee fee, they can proudly display it to certain NPCs throughout Hyrule. Interestingly, the Ring Garland is crucial for a side quest located in Gerudo Town.

As players enter Gerudo Town (coordinates: -3875, -2864, 0043), they'll find the once-thriving city completely deserted and ravaged by the unforgiving desert storm. To reach the waterway entrance, head towards the north gate (coordinates: -3792, 2903, 0043) and follow the letters inside the bottles, leading to an opening in the ceiling. Use Ascend to enter the Gerudo Shelter.

For those who have already made acquaintances with the Gerudo, entering through the front entrance is a breeze. The Gerudo Shelter is easily accessible from the north gate, nestled within a hollow in the palace staircase.

Once inside the shelter, make your way to the Voe and You classroom located at -3863, -2989, 0032. The esteemed Voe and You teacher, Ashai, with her striking pink hair, offers lectures in the evenings. To pass the time, players can warm themselves by the fire until evening falls.

To begin this quest, players must speak to Ashai and offer to observe or participate in the lesson. Once accepted, players will be tasked with assisting three Gerudo students - Nali, Pritana, and Deltan. While the Ring Garland is specifically required for Deltan, players must help all three students before they can present the item. The first student, Nali, requires assistance and should be the initial focus of the player's efforts.

Nali's anxiety around voe like Link is quite palpable, causing her to shut down and refuse to communicate with him if she can see his face. In such a situation, the lesson would need to be cut short, and Link would require a head accessory that completely covers his eyes. Good options for this would be any of the Divine Beast Helmets or Cece's Hat. Once Link is able to conceal his eyes successfully, Nali will feel more comfortable and open up to him, allowing players to progress to the next student.

Pritana

To assist Pritana, have another conversation with Ashai. Note that The Noble Canteen's specialty beverage, Noble Pursuit, is required for her. The Noble Canteen is located to the right of Gerudo Town's north gate.

Prior to obtaining a Noble Pursuit, players must clear the Lightning Temple. Following that, they may speak with the bartender to receive a complimentary Noble Pursuit. If players have previously received their initial Noble Pursuit, they must pay 20 Rupees for it.

Return to Ashai, restart the lesson, and opt to offer Pritana the beverage when prompted.

Deltan, the forlorn maiden, can be cheered up with a simple gesture. Equip the shield with the Ring Garland and speak to Ashai. Once Deltan lays her eyes upon the beautiful ring, her hope is restored. This act of kindness will not only lift her spirits but also free Link from the burden of attending evening classes. Is Purchasing a Ring Garland Worth It?

The Ring Garland is a decorative item that has no real reward or benefit for players, including those in the Voe and You classes. However, it can be used to add some charm to Zelda's house in Hateno Village. While it is not a significant investment at only 5 Rupees, it is also not a must-have item and players may not feel the need to acquire it right away due to its lack of practical value.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available for Nintendo Switch.
