In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Link will come across various non-playable characters (NPCs) who enlist his help as the Hero of Hyrule. These quests can reward Link with increased hearts or stamina, as well as useful equipment. While some smaller quests may only offer interesting stories or memorable interactions, completing all the side stories in Tears of the Kingdom proves beneficial for Link.
One such side quest is "The Missing Owner," which Link can stumble upon early on during his time in Gerudo Town. This quest eventually leads Link to the Legendary 'Arms of the Seven,' but he must first navigate the challenges faced by the rugged tribe residing in the Gerudo desert. Our guide will thoroughly explore "The Missing Owner," providing everything Link requires to uphold his heroic reputation.
How to Begin "The Missing Owner" in Tears of the Kingdom
In order to start "The Missing Owner," Link must travel to Gerudo Town, located in the southwestern corner of Hyrule. Upon arrival, Link will need to overcome a massive sandstorm to cross the desert. While it is technically possible to begin "The Missing Owner" before facing the storm, it is much simpler to wait until after completing "Riju of Gerudo Town."
To locate Cara, a Gerudo merchant, Link should search for her either in the shelter beneath the town or inside the Jewelry Shop. If Link chooses to look for her in the shelter, he can find her stand by turning left after entering the chamber (-3871, -2960, 0033).
Once the storm has dissipated in the vicinity, Cara will proceed to transport her merchandise to the heart of the town, traversing the primary line of vendors. For those seeking guidance, a map of the town will reveal the presence of a shop denoted by a symbol resembling a diamond ring. It is advisable to make one's way there in order to engage in conversation with Cara.
Finding the Missing Shop Owner
Cara will let Link know that although she can create a few accessories for him, the true talent lies with the store's owner. Unfortunately, the owner had left before the chaos erupted to search for materials and has yet to return. The only hint she provides to Link is that they mentioned going to the Toruma Dunes, situated to the west of the town.
Link can easily reach the area on foot, especially if he has TotK's Sand Boots. As he approaches Toruma Dunes, he should keep an eye out for a plume of smoke in the distance. This will indicate the precise location of the missing shop owner. Once Link arrives in the area, he will discover the shop owner standing on a rock (-4772, -2826, 0034) while a Molduga circles around it.
Defeating the Molduga
Moldugas are massive creatures that navigate through the sand as if they were swimming. They possess an extraordinary sensitivity to any disturbance on the sand, making it crucial to seek refuge on a stable surface such as rocks or remnants of ancient ruins when in their vicinity.

Link possesses the ability to exploit the beast's instincts, strategically scattering items on the sandy terrain to entice it out into the open where it is most susceptible. Among the most effective techniques is employing the Time Bomb Zonai device. As the Molduga draws nearer, affix the Time Bomb to an arrow and launch it onto the sand. The key lies in enticing the Molduga to take the bait before the bomb detonates. When executed flawlessly, the creature will consume the bomb, resulting in a detonation within its stomach, rendering it temporarily paralyzed and exposed.
If Link is in need of Time Bombs, he can find them at various Device Dispensers scattered across different locations. Some of the places where Link can acquire Time Bombs include the South Hyrule Sky Archipelago (-1220, -1583, 1007) and Courage Island (-2364, 0787, 0611).
Once the Molduga is immobilized, its vulnerable underbelly will be exposed. Link should direct his attacks towards the belly, as the rest of the creature is heavily protected. By repeating this strategy, the monster can be defeated swiftly. Additionally, if Link is accompanied by any of his Sage companions, the process will be even more expedited.
Speak with Isha to Complete The Missing Owner
After defeating the Molduga, Link discovers the name of its owner, Isha. Overwhelmed with gratitude for Link's intervention, she promises to create something extraordinary for him if he can find his way back to her shop. With that, Isha heads back to Gerudo Town, leaving Link stranded in Toruma Dunes.
Claim Isha's Reward:
If Link has already finished the Soryotanog Shrine, he has the option to instantly return to Gerudo Town by using fast-travel. However, if he hasn't completed the shrine yet, he can choose to either walk back or utilize a popular mode of transportation called the Tears of the Kingdom's Hover Bike.
After arriving in town, make your way back to the Jewelry Shop where you will find Cara and Isha waiting outside. Cara expresses her gratitude to Link and rewards him generously with a diamond. On the other hand, Isha explains that her reward is more complex and requests Link to return when he has more free time. This marks the conclusion of "The Missing Owner," but upon Link's subsequent return, he will embark on the process of crafting the Arms of the Seven, consisting of the Scimitar of the Seven and the Daybreaker shield. While technically part of the "Pride of the Gerudo" quest, this can all be considered as a reward for assisting Isha in "The Missing Owner."
"The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom" can now be enjoyed on the Nintendo Switch.
