Following the catastrophic events of the Upheaval in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Lurelin Village has fallen victim to plundering pirates, causing its inhabitants to disperse throughout Hyrule. In order to restore the village to its former glory, the heroic Link must intervene and expel the menacing pirates.
To initiate the process of revitalizing this seaside township in Tears of the Kingdom, the first crucial task is to eradicate the monstrous foes that have taken up residence along the village shores. This undertaking, known as the "Ruffian-Infested Village" side quest, holds the key to rescuing Lurelin.
How to Begin Ruffian-Infested Village in TotK
"Venturing into the treacherous village known as the 'Ruffian-Infested Village' is best initiated by journeying to the hills northwest of Lurelin Village, adjacent to the Sifumim Shrine. For an optimal vantage point, set your sights on the Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower, which stands as the closest tower. From its lofty height, Link can deftly glide southeast, swiftly approaching the targeted area."
Players will encounter Rozel and Bolson near a campsite that offers a panoramic view of the village, located at coordinates 2784, -3269, 0083.

Ruffian-Infested Village Walkthrough
Rozel will inform Link about the alarming state of the village: a group of monsters, acting like pirates, have seized control of Lurelin Village, rendering it perilous for its inhabitants to come back. In order to successfully accomplish the optional quest, players will have to venture into the village and eliminate each one of the pirate-like monsters.
The fastest way to enter town is by gliding down from the hills, but players have the option to enter on foot as well.
Dropping in from above allows Link to get off a few aerial sneak attacks on the monster forces before landing.
As a warning, it should be noted that the difficulty of many of the monsters in the village will be scaled to match the player's current world level.
Players will encounter various groups of monsters scattered around the remnants of the village, as depicted in the images below:
To keep track of their progress in vanquishing all the adversaries, players will have a convenient "boss bar" feature.

In addition to that, there are also menacing creatures lurking aboard the expansive pirate vessel securely moored at the bustling harbor. Players will need to rid the ship of these formidable monsters. If the task of boarding the ship proves to be challenging, players can strategically position themselves on the colossal fish skull located beneath the ship's bow and effortlessly ascend onto the deck.
Located on the main deck, the formidable Boss Bokoblin serves as the commanding officer of the pirate crew. This mighty adversary is specifically tailored to match the player's level, ensuring a thrilling and challenging encounter. Additionally, players will discover a pair of bomb barrels strategically placed onboard, offering a tactical advantage in the fierce battle against the Boss Bokoblin and its fellow pirates.
Where to Find the Last Monster in Lurelin Village
As mentioned by Rozel before, the presence of even a single monster poses a significant danger to the villagers. For certain players, this might prove to be quite challenging, leaving them with only a tiny sliver of health remaining on their bar when facing the formidable forces of the monsters.
There is one monster hiding underground that is often missed by players. Link can find it near the coordinates 2938, -3378, 0012, hiding underground.
At these coordinates, players will find the monster's weapon and shield sitting on the edge of the Lurelin Village Well with a trail a smoke rising up from out of it.
Players can jump into the well to find the last Bokoblin cooking by a fire. If players still have other monsters to find, they can use Ascend to return to the surface.
How To Complete Ruffian-Infested Village in TotK
Once the final monster has been defeated, the game will cut to an assembly on the beach with Rozel, Bolson, and a few of the villagers that were hiding out nearby.
