Gleeoks in Tears of the Kingdom can surprise players by performing a barrel roll mid-combat, as one player recently discovered.

Thunder Gleeoks in Tears of the Kingdom present a substantial challenge, often resulting in intense battles when faced. Although it may appear clever to throw them off cliffs, this tactic cannot be relied upon for victory, and players must exercise caution when engaging these formidable foes.

In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Gleeoks are known for their relentless fighting, but a recent discovery shows that they can also unexpectedly retreat with a barrel roll mid-combat. The footage of this unusual encounter quickly gained popularity on social media, joining the collection of amusing Tears of the Kingdom clips.

Encountering a Gleeok in Tears of the Kingdom always presents a formidable challenge, especially considering they are some of the rarest enemies in the game. Among them, the Thunder variant of these three-headed dragons is particularly menacing, mainly due to the scarcity of gear that provides protection against electric damage compared to fire- and ice-resistant equipment and consumables.

Reddit user MetaByte7 recently had an unexpectedly effortless encounter with a Thunder Gleeok. Surprisingly, after bringing its health down to just below half, the creature hilariously barrel-rolled over a cliff. The player was confused and expected the dragon to fly back up, but it never did. The player proceeded to descend the mountain and shoot the glitched creature with arrows, causing it to continue tumbling down the slope until the fight finally ended.

Partial footage of this incident, which recently gained attention on the r/TearsOfTheKingdom subreddit, suggests that the rolling animation may have been triggered erroneously by the Thunder Gleeok's proximity to the cliff's edge. Despite having ample space to fall flat on its three faces, as it typically does when all heads are downed, the creature executed this unusual maneuver. This encounter is not the first time that players have witnessed gravity's effectiveness against flying enemies in the game. In July, another player discovered a clever method of disposing of Gleeoks by purposefully throwing them off cliffs, similar to what MetaByte7 unintentionally accomplished.

In the game, Gleeoks are often found in elevated locations. However, trying to defeat them by pushing them off cliffs is not a reliable approach to deal with these formidable creatures. Therefore, players are recommended to wait until they have sufficient strength to defeat Gleeoks through conventional means. It is advisable to completely avoid encountering these enemies in the early stages of the game. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom can be played on Nintendo Switch and is currently available.
