While some players have questioned the disappearance of Sheikah tech, the director has provided clarification on the matter.

During an interview with The Telegraph, Hidemaro Fujibayashi shared some intriguing insights about Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Since its release, an increasing number of players have been curious about the fate of the Sheikah technology featured in Breath of the Wild. Fujibayashi revealed that it vanished after players defeated Calamity Ganon, bringing an end to Breath of the Wild. As the Calamity dispersed, Hyrule underwent a purification process, leading many inhabitants to move on without pursuing the lost technology. Fujibayashi emphasized that the enigma surrounding the Sheikah tech remains, with no one comprehending its workings or the reasons behind its disappearance.

Given the prevalence of Sheikah technology among the characters in Zelda: Breath of the Wild, it is understandable that some players may be curious about its absence in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. However, the characters in the game are preoccupied with the numerous strange events occurring in Hyrule, which has caused them to overlook the disappearance of Sheikah tech. Additionally, the distinct civilizations in Hyrule compared to those in Breath of the Wild contribute to the characters' lack of concern. Hidemaro Fujibayashi, the game's creator, mentioned that nobody in Hyrule has made an effort to investigate further since the defeat of Calamity, resulting in the topic being largely disregarded in the sequel.

While many players have raised questions about the absence of Sheikah technology in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the explanation provided may not satisfy everyone. It remains uncertain if Nintendo intends to explore this concept again in a future installment of the Legend of Zelda series.
