WWE star Seth Rollins joins the cast of Captain America: Brave New World, and discusses his initial concern about his acting abilities.
Rollins recognizes the distinctions between wrestling and acting, but their resemblances render him an excellent choice for the role. With his undeniable charisma and proven track record of seamlessly portraying characters in the WWE, Rollins brings a thrilling dynamic to the upcoming Captain America sequel.
Another WWE superstar has joined the ranks of comic book movie heroes, transitioning from wrestling moves to superpowers. However, when discussing his role in Captain America: Brave New World, this wrestler expressed concern about his performance. Captain America: Brave New World marks Sam Wilson's debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, wielding the iconic shield, and will include various villains from Edward Norton's The Incredible Hulk. Among these villains is WWE star Seth Rollins, whose specific role in the MCU timeline remains a mystery.
During an interview with Mythical Kitchen (via YouTube), Rollins shared his thoughts on taking on this acting role in the MCU. He admitted to feeling nervous about doing justice to the enigmatic character, given the differences between wrestling and acting. "I'm 38, and I've only been involved in wrestling for 20 years... whenever I step out of my comfort zone, I get nervous. I think, 'I'm not good at this, I don't know what I'm doing.'" However, Rollins reassured that he was in capable hands and had an enjoyable experience on set. Regardless of the character he portrays in the cast of Captain America: Brave New World, it's likely that he is a perfect fit.
Why Seth Rollins' WWE Career Makes Him A Solid MCU Casting Choice
Ignoring his concerns about the differences between wrestling and acting, Rollins is likely doing himself a disservice by not recognizing their similarities. Seth Rollins won't be the first WWE star to join the upcoming MCU Phase 5 release roster. His WWE colleague Dave Bautista has already taken on the prominent role of Drax the Destroyer in Guardians of the Galaxy, and it's clear that Bautista's dedication has paid off. Bautista's physique, athletic ability, acrobatics, and skill in portraying an exaggerated character have greatly enhanced his portrayal of Drax, and there's every reason to believe that Rollins would have the same success.
In addition to his transferable skills, Seth Rollins (real name Colby Lopez) will bring some star power to the latest Captain America sequel, regardless of the role he takes on. As the current World Heavyweight Champion of the WWE, his involvement will undoubtedly be celebrated by wrestling fans worldwide. Combining this with Rollins' past success in embodying characters in the ring, it appears that Captain America: Brave New World has gained an exciting new actor to join its already impressive cast.

As a long-time fan of both the WWE and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I am thrilled to see that Seth Rollins is joining the cast of Captain America: Brave New World. Rollins is one of the most talented and charismatic wrestlers in the WWE, and I believe he will bring those same qualities to his acting role.
I understand Rollins' concerns about stepping outside of his comfort zone, but I think he is being too hard on himself. He has proven himself to be a gifted performer in the WWE, and I am confident that he will be able to make the transition to acting successfully. I am excited to see what he brings to the role and how he interacts with the other characters in the film.
