World of Warcraft is introducing Arfus, a popular ghostly dog pet inspired by the Lich King, in both Classic and retail versions of the game.
Arfus comes in two distinct models, one for Wrath of the Lich King Classic and another for Dragonflight. The Dragonflight model, known for its superior quality, stands out among the two. Players are able to obtain Arfus by completing specific achievements and participating in in-game events. Once obtained, Arfus can be utilized as a battle pet in various mini-game encounters within the vast world of World of Warcraft.
Arfus, the popular ghostly dog inspired by the Lich King, is finally being introduced as a collectible pet in World of Warcraft. Players will be able to obtain this adorable spectral pup in both the Wrath of the Lich King Classic and retail versions of the game. Despite not making an appearance in World of Warcraft until now, Arfus has gained recognition as the unofficial mascot for the development team of Classic WoW.
Now, players in both Classic and retail World of Warcraft have the opportunity to earn the ghostly good boy as a pet. Arfus has two different models available - a lower-resolution version for Wrath of the Lich King and a high-fidelity counterpart for Dragonflight. Arfus belongs to the Undead variety of battle pets, allowing players to level him up and utilize him in mini-game encounters similar to Pokemon throughout the game.
In the Classic version of Wrath of the Lich King, players can obtain Arfus by earning a new meta achievement for successfully completing every Defense Protocol Gamma dungeon in the upcoming Fall of the Lich King update. On the other hand, unlocking Arfus in Dragonflight is tied to a Feat of Strength achievement aptly titled The Lick King. It appears that the unlock will be associated with the Hallow's End holiday update in World of Warcraft Patch 10.2, although specific details are currently unknown.
The Fall of the Lich King marks the final major patch and raid season of Wrath of the Lich King Classic. While there are a few minor patches, such as the one introducing the Ruby Sanctum, the popular expansion pack's lifespan on nostalgic servers is approaching its end. Players are uncertain about what awaits them next, whether it be Cataclysm Classic, Classic+, or something entirely different. However, they may gain more information during Blizzcon.
Meanwhile, Dragonflight is currently working on Patch 10.2, titled Guardians of the Dream. This significant update initiates the third raid season of Dragonflight and brings closure to multiple significant plot arcs within World of Warcraft. Although the existence of Dragonflight Patch 10.3 remains uncertain, like Classic, World of Warcraft players can anticipate learning more about the future during the upcoming convention.
World of Warcraft is available now for PC.
