Revolutionary Changes in Old World of Warcraft Raids Farming

Farming for rare drops in an old World of Warcraft raid just got a whole lot simpler with a new quality of life addition Say goodbye to tedious grinding and hello to streamlined gameplay

World of Warcraft players who have been farming the Siege of Orgrimmar raid for rare cosmetic items are in for a treat. The upcoming feature will make this once particularly-long raid a lot easier to accomplish, significantly improving the lives of players who have been striving to obtain these coveted items. The Siege of Orgrimmar raid is the ultimate challenge at the conclusion of the World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria storyline, requiring players to navigate through the Horde capital city of Orgrimmar and confront the notorious Warchief Garrosh Hellscream. Despite its age, players continue to farm this raid regularly to obtain the rare items dropped by the final boss.

With the release of Patch 10.1.5, farming the Siege of Orgrimmar has become significantly easier. The latest build of the WoW Patch 10.1.5 Public Test Realm has introduced a new feature that allows players who have previously defeated Garrosh to skip directly to him on all characters associated with their account. This can be achieved by simply reading the scroll located near the wall next to Loremaster Cho at the start of the instance. Consequently, completing the entire raid can now be accomplished in a matter of minutes for every character.

The most coveted drops from Garrosh in this raid are the Kor’kron Juggernaut and the Tusks of Mannoroth. The Kor’kron Juggernaut mechanical scorpion is a rare mount in World of Warcraft with a drop chance of approximately 1%. On the other hand, the Tusks of Mannoroth, which are designed after Garrosh's shoulder armor, have a drop chance of approximately 0.2%. Considering the number of times the average player would have to complete the raid to obtain these items, this shortcut is a game-changer.

The implementation of the raid skip mechanic has brought joy to many fans, providing them with an efficient shortcut to farming the raid. This has reignited the interest of players who may have burnt themselves out previously and could lead to them trying again. There are hopes that World of Warcraft will apply this mechanic to other frequently-farmed raids such as Icecrown Citadel and Dragon Soul in the future.

In Patch 10.1.5, Orc fans will have the opportunity to imitate the look of Garrosh Hellscream by obtaining his iconic axe, Gorehowl, as a transmog. With Grom Hellscream, Garrosh's father, set to appear in the time-twisting Dawn of the Infinite megadungeon, many players are speculating that the weapon will drop from the encounter. Although there is no confirmed release date for Patch 10.1.5, players can expect it to arrive in the next few months.

World of Warcraft is available now for PC.
