World of Warcraft players have discovered new models for the Dragon Aspects, suggesting they may regain their Aspectral powers in the upcoming patch.
The datamined models reveal refreshed dragon looks for the Aspects who survived and introduce two new dragon characters, complete with the recognizable eye glow that was lacking after Cataclysm. Although their inclusion in the game has yet to be confirmed, these new models and the trajectory of the Dragonflight narrative suggest a potential makeover for the Aspects in upcoming story installments.
Warning: This article contains SPOILERS for the Guardians of the Dream update in World of Warcraft.
Recent findings by players of World of Warcraft unveiled fresh designs of the Dragon Aspects, showcasing their iconic glowing eyes from the Cataclysm era. These updated models imply the possibility of the Aspects regaining their formidable powers in the forthcoming patch.
The Dragon Aspects, leaders of the five dragonflights assigned by the Titans to safeguard Azeroth, were forced to relinquish their Aspectral power during World of Warcraft: Cataclysm in order to defeat the fallen Aspect, Deathwing. Assisting the Aspects in reclaiming their lost powers has been a significant objective of Dragonflight. However, recent data discovered in World of Warcraft's Patch 10.2 Public Test Realm reveals promising developments. Updated dragon models showcasing the restored appearances of the surviving Aspects, as well as the introduction of Ebyssian and Merithra, new draconic characters, with their iconic glowing eyes from pre-Cataclysm era, suggest that the Aspects may finally regain their full powers in the upcoming patch.
There have yet to be any discovered models for the visage forms of Merithra and Ebyssian that feature the eye glow. This could be due to ongoing work on their updated humanoid forms. Speculation has arisen among World of Warcraft fans about whether Merithra might receive a new model alongside the recently updated Black Dragonflight Aspect. Adding to the intrigue, a newly discovered spell in the World of Warcraft PTR called The Great Dragons suggests that Vyranoth, the Primal Incarnate who recently joined the good side, may also receive this blessing. However, Vyranoth already possesses a similar eye glow in both her forms, so no new models are associated with her.
Please note that these models are not currently available in the game, meaning they are subject to change or may not appear at all. However, considering The Great Dragons spell, these new models, and the overall direction of the Dragonflight story, it seems probable that the Aspects will undergo a significant transformation in the upcoming story chapters.
Guardians of the Dream sets the stage for an epic clash between the Aspects and Fyrakk, who seeks to manipulate the World Tree Amirdrassil for his own agenda. It remains uncertain whether Patch 10.2 will be the final major update for Dragonflight, but it will certainly serve as a significant turning point.
