Wiz Khalifa, pictured above, has gained notoriety for his habit of smoking marijuana before attending his son Sebastian’s parent-teacher conferences. However, he maintains that he is not a "bad parent" for doing so.

The rapper, 36, joked during the January 10th episode of the "Call Her Daddy" podcast, "I show up stoned. They expect it. They know what’s up. It’s not like in the past when smoking weed meant you were a bad parent. I'm pretty sure my son smells like weed, but I can’t smell it. I share my 10-year-old son, "Bash," with ex-wife Amber Rose."

Speaking with podcast host Alex Cooper, Khalifa discussed his habit of attending Bash's school events while under the influence. "I show up high because I want to be genuine with my son. I don't want to present a false image or conform to society's expectations of a parent," he explained. "I am just being myself, not because I'm a celebrity."

The rapper expressed his desire not to conceal his true self for anyone, questioning why he should pretend to be someone else for certain situations. He affirmed that he will always be true to himself and refuse to change his identity. Khalifa admitted to using marijuana throughout the day, revealing that he began using it during his high school years.

"I began smoking weed from the moment I woke up and went to school high, you know what I mean?" he remembered. "I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else, but for me, that was just my thing. And it continued into my adult life. I never really slowed down or had a situation where I thought, you know, I'm not going to smoke for this."

Despite being a smoker, Khalifa is actively involved in Bash's life and takes an interest in all of his hobbies. Khalifa expressed, "Our main focus right now is getting dressed. He's really into clothes. He comes to me and says, 'Hey Dado,' because he doesn't call me 'Daddy' or 'Dad,' and he asks for help picking out an outfit. He already has some pieces but needs my input on the rest."

He added, "I appreciate his commitment to looking presentable. It's thanks to him that I've learned the importance of presenting myself well. ... It's truly fulfilling to pass on that same sense of pride to my son."

Khalifa and Rose, 40, were married for three years before splitting in 2014. Since then, they’ve prioritized amicably raising Bash.

"We have always been very effective at coparenting," Rose exclusively told We in October 2020. "Even if you still have feelings for that person right after the breakup, it's not about your emotions or their personal life, it's about the children. Wiz and I discussed this early on."
