An altercation between Spears and Wembanyama's security guard was confirmed to have occurred on Wednesday, July 4th, as reported by Us. A source shared that the singer approached Victor to ask for a photo, but due to the overwhelming number of fans, the security team was surrounded. When the guard turned around to push Britney away, they accidentally hit her in the face, causing her glasses to fall off. After the incident, Wembanyama's head of security apologized to Britney, and both security teams engaged in conversation. Spears' team also filed a police report.
Later that day, Spears finally addressed the ongoing controversy surrounding her. She reminisced about her desire to greet and offer her congratulations to the accomplished 19-year-old Wembanyama, but her intentions were disrupted when a member of his security unexpectedly struck her after she lightly tapped the athlete's shoulder to grab his attention.
I have faced my fair share of traumatic experiences, and last night's incident took me by surprise.
Spears recounted the details of the incident, emphasizing that she frequently experiences being overwhelmed by fans, while highlighting that her personal security team never resorts to physical confrontation with them.
Expressing her concern about the prevalence of physical violence, especially in hidden circumstances, the renowned singer-songwriter took to her Instagram Story on Thursday. She declared her solidarity with all the victims and extended her heartfelt empathy to them. Furthermore, she expressed her disappointment in not having received a public apology from the player involved, his security personnel, or their organization. She expressed hope that they would rectify this situation.

Upon returning to the hotel, he admitted that he initially thought it was not significant. It was only when security informed him that it was Britney Spears that he realized the gravity of the situation. However, he clarified that he didn't recognize her because he didn't see her face, and he continued walking without realizing it was her.
