Upon meeting Britney Spears on the set of her “Slumber Party” music video in October 2016, personal trainer Sam Asghari experienced a rush of excitement and butterflies, as he was about to meet one of the biggest artists of all time.

Asghari's attempt at breaking the ice almost jeopardized his chances with the Grammy winner. Recounting the incident, he shared that when Britney introduced herself, he attempted to be humorous by asking her name again, to which she responded with a polite reminder. However, things took a turn for the better when they bonded over their mutual love for sushi and continued to converse throughout the shoot. By the end of the day, they had exchanged phone numbers to set up a first date and the rest, as they say, is history.

According to an exclusive source from Us Weekly in May 2019, Sam has been a wonderful addition to Britney's life, bringing positivity and joy. Britney's previous marriages to Jason Alexander and Kevin Federline ended in divorce, but she continues to co-parent her two sons with K-Fed.

According to his manager, Brandon Cohen, Asghari officially proposed to the performer known as "Womanizer" in September 2021, marking the culmination of their almost five-year-long relationship. Asghari came to the defense of the singer following a New York Times documentary that delved into her personal and professional life amidst her legal battle to remove her father, Jamie Spears, as her conservator. Via his Instagram Stories on February 9, Asghari expressed his disdain for Jamie's attempts to control their relationship and create obstacles. He stated that he believes Jamie to be a disrespectful person and a hindrance to their privacy, but feels it is necessary to express his opinion and freedom.

"I have always wished for the best for my partner and will continue to support her in achieving her dreams and creating the future she desires and deserves," he stated in a statement to People, a day before this comment. "I am grateful for the love and encouragement she is receiving from her fans worldwide, and I am excited about a wonderful, ordinary future together," the actor stated.

A source told Us exclusively that Asghari “would love” to start a family with Britney one day.

“He’s always dreamt of having children and thinks he would be a great father. He’s a natural around little kids,” the insider revealed.

At the end of April, the couple attended a wedding of one of Sam's friends and were seen getting close while dancing and showing public displays of affection.
