According to Daphne Barak, a reporter for the Sun and the Daily Mail, Kevin Federline, who is the ex-husband of Britney Spears, has refuted claims that his former partner is using drugs.

Barak alleged that the ex-dancer confided in her about her concerns regarding Spears' alleged meth addiction and expressed her hope that someone would bring attention to the issue and that Spears would recover. Federline, who shares parenting responsibilities with Spears for their sons Sean Preston and Jayden James, vehemently denied the accusations.

"We are deeply saddened by the false claims and the pain that Daphne Barak and Erbil Gunasti have caused our family. Despite our trust in them, we had to sever ties back in March for several reasons that we prefer not to discuss here. It's distressing that they continue to harass us despite our repeated requests to be left alone. We spoke with them a few times, always approaching the matter with love and compassion for Britney and the Spears family."

Spears has issued a response to the allegations, denying their truthfulness. In an Instagram post on Sunday, she expressed her sadness, questioning whether her sons were actually making such claims. She also shared her disappointment that despite trying hard to create a good environment for her children, it was never enough, and people were still spreading lies about her behind her back. Spears emphasized the harm caused by such behavior, stressing that it is not acceptable to make up lies on such a large scale.

Following her divorce from Federline, the co-parenting of their sons Sean Preston and Jayden continued. However, Spears became estranged from her boys when Jayden expressed that he felt his mother had not shown equal love and attention towards both him and his brother. In an interview with the Daily Mail in September 2022, Jayden shared that he and his brother have found solace in each other as they process the emotional trauma they have been through and work towards healing their mental health.

In response to the allegations made against her, Spears took to Instagram to express that she had tried her utmost to be the best person possible whilst under her conservatorship. Having been placed under the conservatorship in 2013 following a series of public struggles, it was eventually terminated in November 2021. It was recently confirmed that Federline has plans to relocate to Hawaii, with Britney's consent.
